Unfortunately with the holiday I can’t really recommend that you call and ask until Tuesday, but I imagine they’ll be flexible given you don’t have much control over a hurricane.

You can shoot an email to their admissions... im sure someone gets notifs on their phone and is willing to answer something of that urgency over the weekend. Worst case is that you do have to wait until tuesday, best case they get back to you sooner.

I would email them. I was verified on 6/21 and did not get a secondary. So I emailed them once but did not receive a reply. Emailed them again. It turns out they have been sending my secondary to another email that it is not on my AMCAS application. It was the email I used when I first applied 5 years ago and that email is no longer active. This was the only school that had this problem 🤔

Anyway, I finally got the secondary on 8/27.

Would anybody be willing to give my Albany secondary a once over? I did a few drafts but my "describe yourself" and " anything else to let us know" just feel...awkward. I just want another pair of eyes before I submit tonight.

I know we all signed NDAs when signing up for interviews, but does anyone who has already had a II have any general feedback of how the day was?

It was very organized and they did a nice job helping us relax before hand. They give you fruit yogurt and coffee in the morning and lunch after the tour which was sandwiches for us. My advice would be to arrive at like 7:45 since they brought everyone who was in the coffee shop back then, and they started right at 8. Good luck!
 
Does Albany send email applicants info about rejections, interviews, or waitlists? Or would you need to check it out on their portal?

I got the II on the portal and never got an email. Never even got a confirmation email when I scheduled the interview. But I have heard people say they've gotten II via emails.

I got an II on the portal and never got an email, but they told us today at the interview that decisions would come out via email, so maybe they've fixed the issue?
 
Does anyone who interviewed remember the name of the director of admissions (tall, white woman)? I am writing my thank you note, and I cannot find her name anywhere.

Where are you going to send it? Just the admissions office? Her name was Julia Saltanovich

II Let's Go! complete 8/20 and received an email invite. Is anyone struggling to upload a photo? It keeps saying it's saved but then when I go to schedule a date it disappears.

I sent a card to the admissions office, not sure how long it will take to get there through snail mail but I think an email thank you also does the job. It takes a lot to set up an MMI and I think its worth a quick thank you.

I don't know how much influence it has, but I once heard that you should take thank you cards with you when interviewing. This way you can sit and write it out before you leave with everything fresh in your mind (names of your interviewers, convos, etc) and leave it in the admissions office. Just my two cents and what I'll be doing!
 
Is a challenge/diversity essay a good idea for the "tell us one thing about you" prompt? I know I'm late so pls help.
 
If I want to add in an experience to this school (Just started in a research lab!!) what is the best way to notify this school? I have not submitted my secondary yet, and was thinking to include a small blurb on this in #3 question?? I have taken 1 gap year and now am on my second, starting with this new research lab. Hope my question makes sense thanks in advance!!

You can do that, but if you end up receiving an II from AMC, they give you a chance to discuss new developments in the interview registration form.
 
Anybody who has already interviewed here have any recommendations for hotels? The AirBnBs in the area are pretty comprable in price, and I'm just wondering if staying in one of the nearby hotels (with the Albany Med interview discount) is worth it in terms of price and comfort.

Staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Albany Medical Center made it soooo convenient. There’s even a bridge that you can take on the second floor that leads right into the hospital and it took about five minutes to walk to the meeting location for the interview. You really can’t beat that. There’s also a restaurant on the first floor that makes it really easy to grab lunch/dinner, Starbucks right next to that, Panera down the street and a bunch of other stuff.

tldr: 10/10 recommend staying there based off convenience and comfort of knowing you’re across the street from the medical center!

Unsure if anyone was as clueless as I was, but I didn't know that you had to self-mark your application as complete until several weeks after I submitted the secondary. But, I think that's why you may not be seeing the email^

Are you sure there is a complete email? What does yours say?
I submitted (& clicked complete) on 8/6 but never got an email. But my portal does say "Your application is now complete. Please be patient. We will notify you by e-mail of the outcome of the screening process."
 
Does anyone know if this school gives silent Rs? Thanks!
