My friend and I worked in the same lab last year. She was applying that cycle and our PI got a call from Cleveland Clinic. I believe they asked my PI if she was seriously considering CCLCM/researching.

Very odd. How would the PI know how serious a person is about a specific school.

They have a pretty good idea of where I’ll go. I agree that it’s a weird question for the school to ask, though.

If you get into 3-4 top schools, even if you think you know now, it is a very tough decision to make, especially between money and prestige.

Most schools call you before they send you anything.

After seeing your post, I’m now wondering if the reason my PI from my summer internship last year, who I haven’t spoken to in months, randomly texted me asking how the cycle was going a week or so before my interview is because they called her too?! I hope it doesn’t negatively impact me that we don’t regularly talk anymore and she has no clue what my top choices are

I interviewed 9/4, and they said they would get back to us as soon as they could, so I assumed they would notify us today.
