So did you find that making your own flashcards wasn't enough info for step 1? I prefer to make my own flashcards, but I know most people worship the premade Step 1 decks...

Wait... I wanna hear this. Do you know what page or can you quote it?

Not necessarily, I have zero attention span for making flashcards (either physical or Anki) so I used ZAnki with the irrelevant cards suspended and unsuspending cards as we learned material. I have friends who make their own flashcards and don't use the pre-made decks. Some of them graciously share. Its all about how you study.

(fwiw I think the premade Step decks are regarded so highly because of the time and commitment that goes into them. They're good, but if making your own cards is for you, then do that.)

Pre II Hold, complete 8/13. When does Drexel even finish interviewing? I feel like a hold this late in the cycle is not the best news.

If it’s any comfort, I was placed on hold 1/13 and got an II last week. They are also supposedly interviewing until April. But I think the consensus is that interviews are rare after a hold. If you have any updates or special interest in the school, probably a good time to let them know.

Thanks so much for the input and congrats on your interview invite! I will definitely send them an update.

Does Drexel offer any merit scholarships and/or fin aid grants? Thanks!

They give out multiple (not sure exactly how many) merit-based scholarships. Mine is 30K/year which works out to a little over half-tuition. I know a couple of my friends also received similar scholarships!

So you're telling me that being a dork freshman year and bombing my classes is costing me $120k?... That's fantastic.

I did well in undergrad and had an EFC of 0 if that tells you anything about the financial aid lol it’s all a mystery. I got nothing first year, i didnt do well first or second year and still received money for it. Who knows

No Drexel does not do silent rejection. I got a rejection last month

I got silent rejected. Well, I have technically been on hold since 2017 and never received a decision lol. I was placed on hold again December 15th but clearly since other people are coming off holds placed later than mine, it appears they don't intend to inform me of anything this time around either 🙁

In the portal it says you can only send a total of 3 updates but they are all different categories. If I want to send an interest letter because I was put on hold for an II, how would I go about doing that?
Anyone who experienced the same?

hey! Email admissions with the letter, they'll upload it for you into the portal.

I have sent them two letters. I uploaded the first as an update letter and then emailed admissions with the second letter and they added it into the portal for me! [email protected]

I know some are for other things other than just grades. They are pretty vague about why you are selected for the big scholarships, but they definitely take your whole application into consideration. You never know! I didn't find out about it until April.

Pre-II hold just now, complete 8/13 (submitted app 7/29). LM 70

Yet another one of Drexel’s home city rotation sites going down, shame. After working in the system for so long it’s really sad to see
Still gonna be a Dragon though

For those who have interviewed, what kind of questions did you get asked at your interview?

During my interview they literally breezed through fin aid info in like 30 seconds. Question - I've been accepted to a couple of in state schools where tuition would be ~ 25-30k per year. I'm really loving Drexel but I don't know if I can reconcile paying an extra $120k. I won't qualify for any need-based scholarships, but would Drexel be receptive towards this info and working with me? What kind of aid do they give out? And at what point in the process should I share this info with them?

I'm sorry if this question has been answered already! For those of you who have interviewed, did you upload your thank you note to the portal? If not, did you email it to admissions?

Thanks in advance!

You won’t know until Spring right before Second Look Day AFAIK. I’d go to your state school if it’s cheaper unless it’s a DO

My interviewer gave me her email so I sent it there, but you would send it to the admissions committee

What does the hold letter look like? Is it something along the lines of we won’t be there Interviewing you right now but We will re evaluate your application later in the year?
