2019-2020 Oakland (Beaumont)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Does anyone know when the wait list goes out? This program is a really great fit, but no calls for me yet. I'd really love to know where I stand, so I can move on emotionally or gauge my chances.

The hospital is beautiful.

EDIT: and also ranked 2nd best hospital in MI and I think 11 top ranked specialties.

YOU PLAY DOTA 2!! OMG!! and blade master was my favorite character back in the day, although hooking noobs with pudge was also awesome.

Congratulations guys!! Makes me very happy seeing these acceptances! 🙂

Is there a lot of walking on this interview? Debating whether to wear heels or flats to my interview on Friday.

Yes, I would say there is quite a bit of walking. Tour around Beaumont Royal Oak and then the OU campus as well, some of the girls that were wearing heels on my interview day were complaining lol

Thank you! It seemed like it was a lot of walking from the itinerary. Any tips for the interview as a successful applicant?

Honestly, just be yourself (as cheesy as that sounds) but the two interviews I had were very conversational and low stress. The overall day was fun, and touring Royal Oak was an amazing experience as well.

The presentations in the beginning are a bit lengthy, but after that the day flies by. I'm sure you'll have a great time, good luck!!

If you have any specific questions, feel free to PM me.

I was dyinggggg during the presentations. Flew in the day before at 5am and I was not very well rested lol. Make sure and get your rest! It’s a beast of an interview day.

How dumb would it be to send in my secondary application today even though I received the supplementary application on 8/27/19? Are they still sending out interviews?

Yeah honestly those presentations were killing me, near the end whenever he would switch to the next slide, I had to keep switching positions in my chair or I swear I would've fell asleep lol

Yes! His voice is so soothing lol
LOL, so many truths here, especially for me, because I only had like 3 hours of sleep and major jetlag. Wear comfortable shoes. I wore comfortable shoes, and my feet were still killing me by the end of the day. It's the longest interview day I've experienced thus far.

For those of you who had an interview, would you mind sharing a bit more about the presentation? I'm curious to know if it's different that what's presented during the preview day and webinar.

It was just an overview of the entire school basically. I had trouble thinking of actual questions with my interviewers because they had basically answered everything lol.

Anyone else interviewing 10/25 and is staying at the Courtyard Marriott? Message me if you want to meet up before the interview maybe we can all get food and explore the area!

Hoping some more acceptances come out today!
They seem to be going by interview date. I had mine early October, so I'm not expecting any news for a week or so yet.

Anyone know when their review committee meets?

sorry if it has already been asked but does anyone know what the post-II acceptance rate is? i also have my interview tomorrow so any tips would also be appreciated!
