How long after you got accept did it take before you got that info? I was accepted at the beginning of December and have not seen anything beyond my acceptance email and the season greetings email.

I got accepted in the first round and received the invite some time in Dec I think. Just wait it out and the admins will probably send out a mass email with the link and password.

I was accepted Nov 1, got the info almost a month later. Early December I think.

You’ll probably get it soon, given the weird timeline with the holidays and New Years they’re probably still sorting things out. If anything you could email them next week as well 🙂

I was in the same boat and then emailed Alyssa from admissions. She promptly emailed me back with the password for the FB group.

I interviewed 12/18 and I have been checking my email. I haven't heard anything yet. They told us they would most likely get back to us today.

No it means they haven't made a decision yet - whether it's rejection, waitlist or acceptance.

Maybe? I wouldn’t send it in now. They’re not gonna look at it until waitlist movement which usually starts here in May.
I would revisit in early April. Just remember LETTERS of intent don’t really hold weight at most schools, especially if you don’t have another acceptance.

They don’t strike me as an interview for the waitlist type of school. They’re not like sneaky, they’ve always been very candid about their process, and they accept 70+% of the people they interview so odds are if they extend an interview invite, they’re interested!

If you already have an acceptance at another school you would attend over Rush, don’t go, if you don’t have an acceptance yet or would choose Rush over your other acceptances, then it’s worth the shot! I really don’t think they are the type of school to offer interviews for waitlists

Its definitely not theyve only given out half of their acceptances. Interviews in January are DEFINITELY not for the waitlist lol. Also that idea is really the myth. You always have a chance. Certain schools like EVMS will waitlist everyone that interviews in their last month but that is not the approach the majority of the med schools take.

Supposedly it is a step above, but it looks like this year very few people have gotten accepted from active consideration thus far. I interviewed in the middle of October.

Yeah. Its hard to know as things seem to change so much year to year, but I still believe it is a better spot to be in than waitlist. Although, I don't know the difference at all at this point.

Here’s the thing everyone. SDN is not representative. Sometimes it’s very good, but by January first they had given 150 acceptances and nowhere near that many were reported on here. It could just have been that just as many people got off active consideration this year as last-/ just more of those people were on SDN last year. You also have to remember it’s only the second year they’re using active consideration so one previous cycle is by no means a trend.
