yeah I’m sure you’ve got a shot. I think they interview until March, and pre-screen before secondary so they definitely you interesting enough to give you one!

Judging by past threads they don't start sending out decisions till tomorrow
two years ago they sent it out on the first monday (October 16th) after October 15th, last year they had portal delays and waited until Thursday/Friday (around October 18th).

what did the email say and when did you get it?

Yesterday. It had all the ways to help with tuition/scholarships. Then the breakdown of costs. Also at the end it stated...we hope you rank UC davis high on your admit list. Im not sure what to take of this email.

yes i got this email a couple days after my interview

I think last year they stopped sending IIs at the end of February. 🙁 It's weird they are still sending out secondaries when the spots are almost filled.
Yeah I didn’t think they’d be scheduling into February this early already 🙁

Dont give up hope just yet. Remember people will be releasing their II as they hear back from more schools so you still have a chance of getting an II. Last year, I believe some people received II in Nov all the way to Jan. Until you get that R, I wouldn’t count yourself out of the running just yet.

Needed to hear this. Thanks!

Needed to hear this as well! Wishing everyone luck!

Any idea as to how many spots will be left when I interview in February?

Last year they accepted 119 students. This year on the MSAR website it says the estimated number of new entrants is 159 😵 Am I thinking too much, or??😵

I dont know. I am choosing to stay optimistic. Medical schools typically accept much more students than actually matriculate. Plus, I still have 15 other schools I am still waiting on. I was complete at most of them beginning of September.
512 MCAT, 3.85 GPA, competitive ECs

Probably not. UCs are highly desirable so they can be picky. Also, it seems like UCD has a specific niche of students they prefer so you can be competitive statswise and still not get accepted.
Any idea what that niche might be?

They seem to love students who have strong connection to northern Cal or belong to the populations they intend to serve. This is obvious given the few specific programs they have for this purpose. Also, they like people who have a strong commitment to serving the underserved. The PRIME program is developed for this purpose so I would think students having experiences with the underserved are highly desirable. Obviously, there are other aspects they look for but these are some I have noticed.
