2019-2020 UC San Francisco

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Also received a secondary today! Good luck my dear friends! :*

Are you guys just doing your standard gap year answer or going more in depth?

Did anyone receive a complete email? or just a "secondary submitted" email?

I will be hoping for some love from UCSF for the both of us!

Their website says it takes up to 10 weeks for them to process all the primaries, so there’s plenty of time left! I’d given up hope and then suddenly the secondary appeared.

Fingers crossed for everyone!

I got it today. Verified mid-june. Very little research experience and mediocre ECs. IS. ORM. Lizzy M 76ish. So don't give up hope.

Should the update/expand on activities response only be limited to one activity? Or if I have two that I didn't have much room to expand on in my primary is that okay? I have something written from other secondaries that are some of my favorite responses thus far and are about ~200-250 words each. I don't want to overwhelm the reader, especially because I also graduated over a year ago and am also using the second question to discuss what I've been doing since graduation (but without content/reflective overlap between primary and each of the two secondary questions).

pardon the dumb question, but if I'm submitting a committee packet, is that the AMCAS letter service?

For the question about expanding on activities, do you guys think it would be appropriate if I listed it in bullet format? For example:

EMT: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Tutor: YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Where X and Y are new information that is not in primary

I would make it two paragraphs, one for EMT and one for tutoring.

Well I have 4 activities total that I did not have room to fully explain in the primary. How would you go about writing it in paragraph form? Would you use transition sentences or would it be straight to the point for each paragraph

Straight to the point.

For the gap year question, is it OK if I am rather vague? Such as:
I am doing X, Y, and Z

Still haven't received a secondary for the MSTP program despite good stats. Anyone else in the same boat?

Their website says they send out secondaries from 3 - 10 weeks from the date you are verified. When were you verified? They longest ago it could have been was 6/1 which is 9 weeks.

Not an MSTP, but fairly high stat app myself and nothing so far :/; at this point just ready for a pleasant surprise
I've received all UC secondaries except Davis, and I know some haven't received UCR or UCSF etc. I think it probably comes down to when the primary was verified, and then how they organize/go through the primaries. Wouldn't worry about it
