Those who received this (shockingly) mysterious email, when did you interview?

Just got the email to join a zoom call this week, they said 'Based on some recent events, we wanted to bring you together to discuss a few new updates'. Does this typically mean waitlisted? T.T My heart's in my throat.

What day this week?
Edit: I imagine that’ll be the official day of decision release for everyone else

Post #432 earlier in the thread reported that they were invited to the zoom call and then waitlisted. That account is now inactive. For some reason I remember the same thing happening for accepted students (?) but I can't find that now, I might be wrong there.

There were reportedly zoom calls for both accepted and waitlisted students on 10/15. This news could literally mean anything. I had made a post asking whether those alternate list students on the zoom call were a higher priority, but I never got a response. I'm very curious to see what they do this time.

I happen to know that admissions have been somewhat conservative with acceptances so far this cycle, so it wouldn't surprise me if these calls were for alternate list people that they want to keep interested in the school.

From what I understand, almost none. Most people are either accepted or placed on the alternate list.

Where are you getting this info from? All I can find are a few people that got the email before and then proceeded to be alt-list. Can't find anything on the time of emails or anything, two days before or day of.

One of the folks earlier in this thread stated he got the email "that morning", meanwhile one of my accepted friends got it the day before.

It’s possible my understanding of this email is wrong, though! Knowing them, it’s entirely possible the emails were sitting in their spam folders haha. I didn’t get an email today and this is my top pick school so I’m a bit nervous.

There’s a theory that if you received a zoom link yesterday, it is maybe an acceptance. Meanwhile, a zoom link received tomorrow or no zoom link at all is waitlist. This is purely speculation and may prove to be untrue.
