Interview date assigned in October. Here is my timeline:
Notification they received my app: 8/7
Interview invite/supplemental: 8/12
All supplemental docs submitted: 8/15
All supplemental docs marked as submitted: 9/4
Interview date assigned: 9/9 for mid-October date

OOS, no ties, ORM

Moral of the story was a fat dose of patience

did they send you an email about the interview date? submitted 8/7 too with II on 8/11. starting to think they sent me one by accident lol

How long did it take between you sending in the primary to them notifying you that they received it? It’s been three weeks for me already and nothing 🙁
My primary was transmitted on 7/10 and they said they received it on 8/7, so almost a month for me. I wouldn't be concerned yet, it sounds like it took several weeks for a lot of people who got IIs

Yes they sent an email. Was a little less than a week after everything was marked as complete, but I know some people have gotten the email on a date before having everything marked as complete. I wouldn't worry!

Finally had my interview scheduled today! Timeline:

Primary submitted: 7/30
Notification they received my app: 7/31
Interview invite/supplemental: 8/7
Supplemental docs: All submitted by 2nd week of August. Dean's evaluation and Letters of Reference still unchecked!!!
Interview date assigned: 9/9 for the 1st week of October

Interview finally scheduled this morning!

Primary submitted: 8/7
Notification they received my app: 8/7
Interview invite/supplemental: 8/11
Supplemental docs: Prereqs, dean eval and LORs checked off either last few days of Aug or first few days of Sept (unsure); other items were checked off 7 days after II.
Date interview was assigned: 9/10 for mid-October

should we email if they still havent confirmed primary app?? transmitted on 7/25....

you mean you didn't get an acknowledgment email after AMCAS being transmitted? I would reach out because it has been several weeks. I've been seeing different things for different people but I got an acknowledgment email literally 2 hours after I sent AMCAS. I truly don't believe this was because of anything specific about my app (at that point), it seemed automated, like how it is for other schools too.

Did you send them letters of recommendation? I was under the impression that they do not want anything other than the primary. if you receive II, then you can transmit CASPER, letters, etc..

Primary submitted 7/14, but only complete 8/20. Just got the "application received" email

Can you sign things virtually to submit, or do you have to print it out and send a picture?

The instructions for a non-science LOR state they need to be from a professor who taught you in a class and gave you a letter grade. Would anyone know how flexible they are with this? My non-science LOR is from a psych professor who I did a research internship with, it's not exactly a class but I did get a letter grade. Kind of nervous this is gonna tank my app unless I can get another letter asap
Guess they're not accepting my non-science letter. Just asked them if they would waive the requirement for a second science letter. Fingers crossed.

They do either a letter from a science and non-science professor that had you for a letter grade or two science professors that had you for a letter grade (plus one personal letter of rec for either). I didn't have a non-science writer and they were very clear and helpful about letting me use 2 science writer letters. Do you have a second science professor writer?

That's really great, I was about to panic. I do have a second science letter! I'll send it to them if they give me the go-ahead

How lenient is Indiana on LORs? I have one from a science professor, one from a psychology professor, and one from a volunteering experience. My psychology professor was my research professor and never taught me in a class, but he assigned me a grade for the research. Will that count?

I haven't received a complete email yet, submitted primary 8/25

I had the exact same situation for my non-science letter and they did not accept it. I just sent an email asking if they would accept a second science letter.

Do you think I should be looking for another professor to write me a LOR? I only had 3 and only 2 were from professors and 1 was my research professor.

Does anybody know why IUSM doesn't do traditional secondaries? Curious to know the rationale and I couldn't find it on the website.

Submitted primary: 9/4
Received email: 9/10
Deferred MCAT email: 9/11
Essentially received an email saying my application was deferred because I have a pending MCAT on my primary. Once my MCAT is received it says then my application will be placed to be reviewed but it could take up to 6 weeks or more

If my GPA increased after I submitted my primary, should I submit a transcript update on the portal or wait? (have not received II yet)

Hey all! I had a couple of questions about the app. I was invited for an interview on 8/18 and had all my documents sent out. However my deans letter and letters of recommendation are still marked unchecked. I don’t know where to schedule the interview as there is no option on my applicant portal. I’m not sure where to go from here, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I believe Indiana will send you an email assigning you an interview date, whenever that will be. I'm in the same boat, and Indiana doesn't email receipts of when they've received our documents, so that's great for my neuroticism...Apparently, they may just give you an interview date without giving you a green check on the dean's eval and letters of rec, so there's that.

Thanks for the reply! Well I guess it’s more of the waiting game then. I’ve been seeing people get interviews so I was getting worried that I did something wrong or something. Their communication with applicants hasn’t been the best unfortunately.

submitted my primary at the end of july. havent heard back fro this school. is this an automatic reject?

i submitted my primary mid July and just got an email notification from them that they received my application like 3 days ago haha. You're good!

a
Yeah, you're likely going to get it soon! i wouldn't worry, seems they're slowly sending out those notifications lol 🙂
ya i mean even if they did , whats the point of telling me they got my app. lol that means i still have to wait like a year to get an II

Does anyone know how likely you are to get your preferred campus, specifically if you prefer the Indianapolis campus? If you end up at a campus you especially did not want, are you able to take a gap year and does that require you to just reapply or can you save your spot? Also, doesn’t it seem kind of late (in April) to figure out your campus assignment? As an undergrad, you have to secure housing usually by November or December, and the IU med school campuses are all on college campuses.

From what I understand, it's pretty much luck of the draw. I'm pretty sure if you end up at one of the satellite campuses you have to go their. I have hear of people switching to the Indy campus after the first two years, but there has to be room available for you to switch. Unfortunately, it is a little late in the game to try and figure out where you're going to be staying, but hey, at least you made it into a med school.

I submitted my primary to them on 8/8 and still waiting for an email stating they received it, I am assuming I should just wait until it comes. Or should I email them at this point or just continue waiting? Thanks!

I submitted late July and just got my confirmation today so I would probably just wait a week or two.

Has anyone who interviewed/received an interview II complete all the pre-reqs? I have few pending so I still have a red X. Should I call so I can schedule a date and my status doesn't sit there incomplete?

I interviewed on the 2nd, yesterday I got an 'application complete and ready for the admissions committee' email from them. Prereqs were marked for me on the day I received my interview date, which was assigned for me (and is assigned for everyone). Sadly, you don't get to pick your date, and rescheduling is highly frowned upon by IU.

Nope, not even an option, actually. They haven't been manning phone lines (at least they weren't when I was in your position). It's email only, and you can expect them to typically take about a full day to respond. Don't worry though, everyone has been experiencing the same thing. It's due to their high volume of applicants, I'd bet, and the need for manual updates in the portal.

Thank you so so much for your kind response! 🙂

Is the application complete and ready for admissions committee email the same as the email that says your application has been received and I will be notified of a decision once app is reviewed? Just trynna get a feel of where I am on the timeline.

How longer after you were marked as received did u receive ur interview invite ?

I just had my mcat score released. Did they ask you to update them via email when ur score comes out or they would just know

Don’t think you need to email anyone. I was verified a full month before you and only just today got the confirmation email. They are either downloading in batches or screening so just be patient

I think they download in state first bc I had a friend get verified on Friday 9/11 and was marked as received on that following Monday 9/14

Which files do you upload through document upload and which files do you send directly to the Indiana email?

I got a "Defer MCAT" email the same day as the "app received" email (I took a late MCAT).
