Is the application complete and ready for admissions committee email the same as the email that says your application has been received and I will be notified of a decision once app is reviewed? Just trynna get a feel of where I am on the timeline.

How longer after you were marked as received did u receive ur interview invite ?

It's not the same, no. Here's my timeline (I'm EDP so keep that in mind):

Application sent to IU from AMCAS: 7/10/2020
Email from IU noting application was received and that I would be notified of a decision once app is reviewed: 7/13/2020
II received: 8/4/2020
Interview scheduled: 8/24/2020
Interview: 9/02/2020 (earlier than you'd expect based on the date on which it was scheduled but I'm EDP)
Application complete and ready for committee email: 9/14/2020

Which files do you upload through document upload and which files do you send directly to the Indiana email?

You upload:
-Legal Disclosure Form (should trigger fairly quickly in applicant portal)

You have your undergrad mail (physically, sometimes electronically depending on the school):
-Dean's eval (took almost a month for this to update in the portal)

You email:
-Virtual Interview Acknowledgement (within a week, should appear in 'documents uploaded' on the portal)
-Virtual Interview Confirmation (you will receive the form by email when your interview is scheduled. Similar to Interview Acknowledgement)

Other:
-Grad fee is paid when grad app is done online (takes about 7 days from payment for this to update in the applicant portal)
-Letters of rec are received from AMCAS, but they are not reviewed until around when your interview is scheduled. Portal updated for me on the same day I got the Interview Scheduled email
-MCAT updated immediately for me, but I got my scores on July 7th. For others, might be similar to Letters of Rec. Just be sure AMCAS is sending it to your schools.
-Prereqs come from AMCAS too. Same thing with Letters of Rec where they weren't checked in the portal until well into the process.
-CASPer: there is nothing in the portal about CASPer, but they do require it to be complete. Just make sure you've got it done and sent. They'll let you know if they don't have it, I'd bet.

Hi everyone! I received an II from Indiana on 8/19 and have been patiently waiting for everything to be marked on the portal since. My prereq table finally came up on the portal and I realized I am missing the psych course requirement. Will I still be able to be scheduled for an interview if I have not fulfilled the prerequisites? Does anyone have experience with this or has already asked admissions about it?

HI all. Third time applicant who has interviewed at IU the last 2 years in a row.
OOS.

2018 - 2019
Complete October (MCAT in Sept) and got II in November for January.

2019 - 2020
Complete in late Sept and got II in November for January.

2020 - 2021
AMCAS submitted 7/1 and verified 8/12.
Indiana receipt of primary 8/13
Indiana HOLD for MCAT 8/14 (MCAT was scheduled for 8/14 and got score back on 9/1).
Crickets since then but obvi they take awhile.

However, my friend who is first-time application got II just now. Same state and experiences but he has higher MCAT. He was verified of the first of AMCAS verification dates and took MCAT with me on 8/14 with score release on 9/1.

So just wanted to share these details for those of us being neurotic on the waiting. I hope I can go back a third time to II.

Hi y'all,

For those who have been granted an interview, when you were filling out the professional application did you guys put your previous universities and GPA's. I know in their document it says to not put MCAT or achievement but does the same go for GPA?

I put my GPA but I lowkey I wish I didn’t lol

Everything on my application is marked as received except LOR and perquisites. How long did those take to be marked as received for people? When should I expect to get an actual date for the interview?

Mine took quite a bit (3-ish weeks total I think?). Just trust that they are working on it all and have tons to work through. When everything had checkmarks, I got my interview date scheduled within a few days. I think some people got a date scheduled before everything was marked as received but I'm not entirely sure. I would say if it's less than a month, don't be too concerned. Also, I saw you post a LOR question. For me, one of my letter writers was a science professor that taught me for a grade, but also my PI and wrote his LOR more as my PI than professor. They emailed me asking for clarification, so if any of your LORs are iffy about meeting the requirements, chances are they'll send you an email before they get marked as received.

My guess would be that you should still be able to interview. Most schools just require you to finish your pre-reqs before school starts next year.

I did, too. I have three separate GPAs (college creds in high school, general undergrad, and grad school), so I felt it was necessary.

I don't think it will besmirch your application either way.

^^ same, submitted primary on 7/23 and just got the "application received" email as well

IU is infamous for playing the wait game and silent R's. Out of all the school's I applied to or interviewed, IU def took the prize for silence. This includes for those who were accepted last cycle and still didnt know what campus they were going to be placed at.

How long did it take y'all with interviews between your app being downloaded and the invite?

Does anyone know how we will find out when they make decisions? Will it be through mail only or also email/portal?

Usually mail. I've seen others say their portal updated to accepted, but I don't even see anywhere on the portal where that would happen? Does your portal say anything about being under consideration? Mine doesn't but I'm ED and have already interviewed and everything.

Yeah I’m in the same boat, and I have no clue where these people are seeing that lol. I’m kinda nervous bc I have no clue which adress they’re going to send it to either my home or apartment.

Has there been any interview dates scheduled for anyone who is not ED? I have all the checks marked and wondering when I will get the interview date.

Yes, I got my invite back in early August and I got an interview date in early September. My interview was scheduled for early October. For reference, I submitted all my stuff within a week of getting the invite, but it took a while for everything to be marked complete.

I received an interview invite on the same day! Have you been scheduled yet?

How long did it take to be scheduled after getting the last thing checked off?

I got my date a few days before everything was checked off actually. Then, after getting my date, it took a few days (maybe a week) for everything to be checked off. At one point, my letters went from marked complete, to incomplete, and then back to complete after getting my date so the process is a little funky lol. I'm sure they are just busy and will get everyone schedule in due time.

Still no primary received email 1 month later, anyone else?

How are you ED people feeling?! Can't believe we will hear back so soon. Does anyone know if the portal will update to accepted at some point? I don't see a status anywhere on my portal. The only thing I can think of us maybe a new communication status will show up when a letter is sent.

I'm nervous and excited! Based on what I have read on forums from previous years, some people get their letter first and some have a change to their portal before getting a letter. I don't see anywhere on the portal where it would show what decision they make, so my best guess is it will be updated to show the change if you get accepted.

Nervous but relieved it will all be over soon. I have no clue where the portal would say the decision so I am assuming mail is going to be the main way. I am kinda sad because I won’t be the one to open my letter if it gets sent to my house:/

I have not been scheduled yet! My deans evaluation and letters of recommendation are still not marked complete, as well as prereqs since I am missing psych 🙁

So I checked in with them and they mentioned that not everything needs to be checked off for you to receive an actual date.

Submitted my primary on 8/8 still no primary received email, at this point should I reach out or should I still wait

Have any non-early decision applicants received an interview date yet? I've had all my documents marked as received for week. Thanks

I got my interview date a while back and I'm not early decision. It did take a few weeks after everything was in to get my date so I would just advise patience.

Purdue grad? Man looks like IU will take anybody

In all seriousness congratulations. Have you received any mention of the scholarly concentration programs?
Hahah I know! And kinda we get to pick our campus but I don’t think they’ve said anything about the scholarly concentrations yet.

Got an email saying app was received on 9/14 and still haven’t heard about an interview...should I be concerned bc it seems like a lot of august people for interviews within days of app being marked as received

Just wondering, when did you submit the app? I submitted mine 8/11 and still haven’t gotten an email saying they’ve received it... 🙁
