same lolLooks like my love/hate relationship with Tuesday will continue
I got mine ~ 1 PM CDT!Is there a consistent time that they release decisions?
Honestly, I kinda like having something early in the week to look forward to.Looks like my love/hate relationship with Tuesday will continue
Wait so are y’all saying that if we don’t get a II this month, they’re sending rejections next month?
that doesnt mean that there couldn't be more IIs tho in janWait so are y’all saying that if we don’t get a II this month, they’re sending rejections next month?
Yea but it looks like interviews end in January, so probs after the first 2 weeks of Jan they won’t be sending out IIs.that doesnt mean that there couldn't be more IIs tho in jan
No news is always better than bad news though, unless it’s after January.Another Tuesday with no news. This is unlike Iowa.
NEVER GIVE UP!!!Another Tuesday with no news. This is unlike Iowa.
It was three days before the interview for meCan somebody who has interviewed here tell me how many days before their interview that they received the Zoom links? Thank you!
Also... good luck to everyone waiting on decisions 🙂
Oop just got the R here 😐 sad !
Complete 7/28, stats in signature - best of luck to the rest of y'all!
Pre-II R!I'm so sorry to hear that, and I hope you have great luck with the rest of your cycle. Was this pre or post II?
How did you feel about your interview? I thought mine went very well.Samesies - interviewed in September and not a peep from Carver.
Honestly it was not the best. I really liked the school but my zoom cut out for a lot of the information sessions and I think it might have made it look like I just wasn't paying attention. And once they did get me re-routed to the interview, our conversation got cut off by the time limit. I was impressed by this school and hoped for good news, but only time will tell I guess. How did you feel about your interview? I thought mine went very well.
They can't count that against you. Technical errors are bound to happen during these virtual interviews. Let's just wait and see what happens.Honestly it was not the best. If it helps, my microphone stopped working for the entire CBL portion of the day and I didn't end up participating at all because of it, but still got accepted! I’m trying to hold onto that fact lolLooks like these recent round of As have been mostly IS
Did you interview for rural interest day?Just got the A around this morning which was surprising🎊🤔 IS, LM 74, complete late September, interviewed early November. Good luck to everyone else waiting on a decision!
Nope, just a normal interview day.Did you interview for rural interest day?
You have 3 portal uploads and can frame those to focus on your fit. I know typically, letters of interest are for waitlisted applicants, but not sure about IowaDoes Iowa accept letters of interest? Idk what else to do cause I haven’t gotten an II

Wait no, they conduct interviews through January. They'll probably stop sending II's 2nd week of January (like the 14th or 15th). We have like a month to get II's.Iowa sends II's through January. Don't stress yourself out just yet.

Speaking from what they told me when I interviewed last year, they don't send out Final Pool notices until they have finished interviewing everyone at the end of January. But that isn't to say some people couldn't hear earlier; this is an unusual year, after all.Has anyone received any communication other than an acceptance or rejection? Just curious if they tell some people they have been final pooled or if we all have to wait until the end of January.
During my interview this year, the admissions representative said that they try and advocate for the committee to notify applicants if they're final pooled but it doesn't always happen. So some people might have to wait to hear about the final pool until January🙁Has anyone received any communication other than an acceptance or rejection? We must have been in the same group. 11/9 interview? Most As are from the final pool! Not a bad thing at all.Is everyone that interviewed and not yet accepted, placed in the final pool? Is being final pooled a bad thing?
I actually interviewed on 11/2, but congratulations!! I’m so happy for you and maybe we’ll be classmates next year🙂We must have been in the same group. 11/9 interview? Happy to see you got an A here as well 🙂
That's a relief! I wonder what it takes to be accepted BEFORE being placed in the final pool though. IS vs OOS? Stats? I wonder what sets those acceptances apart from final pool acceptances. Most As are from the final pool! Not a bad thing at all.
Superstars who all the top schools fight over. Early acceptance increases the chances they attend considering they probably get 10+ acceptances in a cycle. That's a relief! From what I noticed last year at Carver, the people who are accepted before the final pool seem to either have high stats (high MCAT), a significant number of clinical hours, or something really unique about their application. It's not always predictable who they decide to pull off, but there's usually at least one or two things that make admissions say 'we really want to make sure this person joins our class'. I think the final pool is more holistic in that they give a numerical score to each part of your app, add up the points, then average the assessment of 3-5 committee members. So someone who is good in each section of their app, but doesnt have a section that stands out, can do pretty well in the final pool. This is all anecdotal of course based on my impressions when I applied. That's a relief! I wonder what it takes to be accepted BEFORE being placed in the final pool though. IS vs OOS? Stats? That makes sense! So does everyone that is interviewed end up being final pooled? Thank you for this! I am OOS with an interview that was in late October and still haven't heard back. Good to know that almost half of the As come off the final pool/WL.IS post II acceptance rate is 43.43% while OOS is 34.51% They accept 152 people each year, 76M/76F. The number of acceptance offers granted to applicants on the waitlist is 65, I believe it's usually 15 for IS and 50 for OOS (but numbers vary each year), so 43% of acceptances come from the waitlist. If you're waitlisted, it's more likely for you to get in if you're OOS.
I hope for your success, it's really good to have gotten 2 A's so far.Thank you for this! I am OOS with an interview that was in late October and still haven't heard back. Good to know that almost half of the As come off the final pool/WL.
Yeah, I've never seen someone who had an interview on SDN get rejected before being final pooled. Once you hear back in March, you'll either be accepted, rejected, or on a ranked waitlist. That makes sense! So does everyone that is interviewed end up being final pooled? Basically, are there no post interview rejections?
I don't think this is correct. According to data, they accepted 275 people last year. Of course, not everyone they accept choses to attend, so they must accept more people than their class size. ~24% of acceptances are from WL.They accept 152 people each year, 76M/76F. I'm sorry, you're correct. I meant enrolled, totally goofed on my part. And that would mean that the WL number is changed, didn't look at that!!I don't think this is correct. post II acceptance data
Maybe those OOS that are accepted do not matriculate because either they were accepted to their first choice (or higher choice) or they preferred to have gone to their state school (tuition less expensive).I'm sorry, you're correct. It's interesting to look that the vast majority of acceptances given to IS students resulted in an enrollment while the same is not true for OOS at all
