Edit: I suppose it depends on how early you were complete - I was complete 7/16 and it looks like I've been passed over. Perhaps you are in the same boat and a good update could get you some more attention again.

What kind of information are you all sharing in an update letter? Grade updates are a month or so away, but would a new research study with the aim of being an included author be something worth mentioning? I was complete at the very end of August and this is one of my top choices so I’m getting kind of nervous... Can we also just express our continued interest in SKMC or is this not recommended?

II just now! I've been complete since July 10th (the very first day lol), but sent them an update letter on Friday and got an II today! There were no available dates until January

In general, updates are reserved for decently big news -- something you would've put in your AMCAS if you could go back and edit it now. For example, a new job or promotion, beginning a new extracurricular opportunity, publication, etc. If not much has changed from what you articulated in your primary and secondary, probably best not to update now.

Thanks for this heads up! I've been debating myself whether to send one, but my PI just confirmed 2 publications but I'm not sure if I should put it down if we haven't finished the manuscripts yet :/

Like a year ago it's just something my PI would say but now we're actually getting all the data ready and writing it!! But I was just looking around on how to phrase this update and I saw a post that said wait until you can physically confirm the publication instead of word-of-mouth so I was hesitant on sending the update lol

i've been told by advisors/mentors that once your manuscript has been "accepted" for publication, it is worthy of an update... unfortunately, and speaking from experience, submitting a manuscript does not always mean it will be accepted for publication. :\

I checked my portal 5 hours after sending it and it was updated.

these are just my thoughts, but i think those are good updates! if you want to be neutral, than leave out the fact that the org is PP and just talk about the experience briefly and how it has changed your perspective/what you've learned from it. regarding the manuscript, if you can wait till you've been accepted for publication (fingers crossed for you), i think it would be a much more meaningful update!

Send to the Dean. She replies once it has been received and your portal updates as well (check status bar and document status).

Are any other accepted people having trouble paying the enrollment deposit? There's supposed to be a link for it but all I see is "confirm enrollment," which I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to click yet...?
