For anyone who submitted an update, on your communication tab does it say "letter of interest received"? I just sent in an activities update and I don't want it to be misconstrued as a premature letter of interest (this is pre-II)

Why don't you want it to be considered a letter of interest?

Are any other accepted people having trouble paying the enrollment deposit? There's supposed to be a link for it but all I see is "confirm enrollment," which I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to click yet...?
In case anyone else wants to know, you are supposed to click "confirm enrollment"...this was stated in the acceptance email but apparently I can't read lol

Yeah. I specified in email and named my pdf as "Update Letter" and it was labelled as a "Letter of Interest" on the portal

Do you know when the deadline for the deposit is? I think it was April 30th but am not 100% sure on that (wanted to confirm lol).

I don't know either so following... also it reads as it is non refundable to me? am I misunderstanding?

Yep, that's the way I read it too...it looks like if you choose to pay before the deadline and ultimately decide not to attend, the deposit will not be refunded.

Just to make sure but...if I click "confirm enrollment" and I input my SSN in the "missing information" field, I'm not actually committing to enroll at Thomas Jefferson right? Like I'm not obligated to matriculate, right? I know it says that in the email but I'm a little confused.

how long does it take once the update is received for it to reflect in the portal?

No you’re not actually committing to enroll! I sent an email to admissions because I was confused about that and someone called me back and said it was just to pay the deposit.

I think in the applicant brochure (link) from this year, they said the deposit is refundable before April 30th

Is there a particular day in the week or time in the day when Jefferson sends II's?

GUYS. send. those. updates!!!! I sent an update today and indicated my continued interest. Dr. Callahan responded in 5 min. I received the II like an hour later!!
but only if you have significant updates right? I am under the impression that it is not a good idea to send an empty update to schools.

also wondering how significant the updates have to be. I started a new volunteering position and sent that as an update. Dr. Callahan responded right away but no II and it has been almost a month now since I sent it in....

I can't really judge what isn't significant enough; mine was pretty significant. I don't think updating about a new position or anything that you would've put on your AMCAS could hurt you. But from what I've heard from others in this thread, they seem pretty receptive to not only updates but indication of interest even before an invite! Really wish all schools were like this lol.

Complete mid-August and haven’t heard a thing. I’m tempted to send a LOI but if they haven’t even started to review my app, I don’t think an update would make any difference...

Omg I’m tempted to send one! When were you complete though?

Sent an update letter today, got a response from Dr. Callahan like 20 minutes later! Let's see if an II comes....
Did you send it directly to their email or we could do this on the secondary portal

For those of you that sent updates, can you tell me if/where you can see that reflected on your portal? I sent an update on October 10 and never received a confirmation email so I emailed it again today and they said they received it on October 10th but I don't see it anywhere on my portal. Thanks!

After I submitted an update (to both Dean Callahan and admissions), I got an automated email from admissions saying it would be under the communications tab within the next 10 days. The next day, I saw under the communications tab that it said "Letter of Interest Received"

Did you send them separately, or CC/together?

Also just curious - What prompted you to find Dr. Callahan's email and reach out to her? They only listed the general admissions email on the SKMC website, so I had to look around a bit to find the one for Dr. Callahan. I wouldn't have thought of it if not for reading this thread.

Per their FAQ, "To maintain the integrity of the admissions process at SKMC, all communications concerning your application, including the interview, should be forwarded to the Dean of Admissions." I have not sent my update in yet though.

Makes sense, thanks! I wanted to check because usually schools want you to just contact admissions only

Anyone else send an update to the dean and its still not showing up on our portal? I sent one a month ago and she replied to my email but its still not on my portal
I sent mine in last week, got a reply, but it's still not uploaded to my portal.

I'm in the same boat - sent an update to general admissions a month ago and never had it uploaded. I resent it a few days ago and they said they received it but still don't seen an upload. I tried calling admissions but there's never an answer so I'm not sure what to do.

I'm sure you checked already but just to make sure, you looked under the communication status tab, right? It won't be under document status, which confused the hell out of me for a while.

Hey, ya - I checked under communication status. It just shows that I sent emails on that day but doesn't show "update letter" or anything like that. Others on this thread have posted that theirs show as "letter of interest" or "update letter" but mine just shows I sent them an email on a specific date.

For those who send in updates, did you put the content in the email body, or as a PDF attachment?
