I could be wrong but i don’t think they have an option to update or upload anything based on the website and initial secondary instructions
 
Has everyone who submitted their secondary in August already been scored? Mine has been under review since 8/10.

I think to get scored you need your rec letters marked complete, and I believe most of the August peeps are yet to have the rec letters matched so not yet

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. I submitted within a couple hours of receiving the secondary on 8/3, then it took almost 2 weeks for my LORs to be marked as received and my status to be changed to under review, and I haven't been scored yet. Just being patient at this point.

I think they fixed the rec letter issue because I submitted 8/26 and recs were already marked received by then. Not scored though.
 
Submitted 8/21 and was marked complete relatively soon after (<1 week). Still waiting to be scored since then.
 
Submitted over a month ago and still waiting on that beloved green check mark next to my letters :/

I'm consoling myself by remembering that even with the green checkmark, I could be waiting months till I hear back:whistle:
 
For those with letters that still show not received, what's your status under the MD Program heading on the status page?

When were your letters of recommendation matched to your application? I have yet to have them matched and be scored even though I submitted my secondary a little earlier than you.

They were matched within a week and a half of me submitting my secondary. Not sure if this makes a difference but my letters had just been uploaded to AMCAS around the same time I submitted my secondary.

What was the consensus on scoring? Is it actually a good sign if you were scored or does it really mean nothing?

Previous posts have said some people don’t get scored at all meaning there I guess is some threshold you have to meet. Being scored is a good sign in terms of it is a step needed before receiving an II but it doesn’t in any means guarantee an II

My letters were also in the same day and I haven't been scored

My stats are pretty much the average for matriculants at the school, so I doubt that's the issue. Not sure how they decide who to score and when to score them, but oh well
 
Anyone wanna call the office and ask about rec letters not being marked and being scored lol?
 
Hello all! For the chronological list of community service/volunteering, should we limit this to what we put in AMCAS? I have others beyond what I wrote there but I left them out of AMCAS due to prioritizing other activities that I felt would hold more weight and the limited number of activities we are allowed to describe.

And what do we do with activities that fall under volunteering AND clinical experience? Such as volunteering in the ICU or at a diabetes camp working directly with patients?
 
Anyone else interviewing on Friday that still hasn't received an email with interview times? Tried calling admissions today and they were very unhelpful.

Asked and answered. The status changes to "application HAS BEEN reviewed..."

Did you ever hear?
Every time I try to call the admissions office, no one answers and it goes to a (full) voice mail box.
 
"Please provide a description of your HOBBIES and what you do for fun and relaxation."

For this question, did you focus on 1-2 main hobbies or many hobbies? For me, I like to do many different things to relax like taking a walk, reading a book, hanging out with friends, etc. I'm not sure if I should talk about everything because I have almost 7 different things I could talk about. Should I list everything and only talk about the most important ones in-depth? Or should I only mention the main hobbies and go in-depth?

Should I even bother listing stuff like "hanging out with friends" or "taking a walk"? I feel like those are pretty generic things that most people do to relax, but also I want to show that I'm a normal human being.

any opinions appreciated!

I think this a great question for two reasons:

1. It gives interviewers something to talk with you about to make you feel comfortable with them and move on towards more pressing topics.
2. It shows admissions that you ARE human and that you know how to work on your mental health because this can be something that a lot of really amazing students struggle with in medical school.

I personally talked about three things that I enjoy doing and went into pretty sufficient detail. You never know what they're going to find interesting about you, or what they can relate with, and that's what really matters!

Does calling the school look bad or can they see your phone number? I was thinking of calling about rec letters, but am worried they will see my number

Dialing *67 before your number will make your number private. If you have an iphone, you can turn on "private caller" in your settings.

Do you think they will note that I called twice this week about rec letters? My anxiety premed self was being dumb, and forgot the private caller part :-(. I didn't mention my name. I'm just worried they'll not my number
 
Submitted 8/4 and Complete 8/18 but still not scored. How about everyone else with similar dates?

They're (probably) way too busy to be noting the phone number or names of people who call. I doubt that they care that much. I don't think they would make a note of your phone number or name unless you are especially rude I guess?
