I submitted 8/29 and my status still says under review... tbh I have no clue what the "scoring" is. Can someone explain? Should I have been scored by now or?

There is no specific time for scoring. It depends on when the reviewers complete their review.

Incredible (but long) interview day. I loved that i was able to interact with the prospective students I interviewed with (I really liked most of them!) You get to interact with deans, professors, and students at various points. I loved everything about it. The interviews are tough at times, but if you prepare you should shine!

So, I know I am applying super late to this school, but I'm confused about the secondary:

There's no word or character limit on any of the responses, so I was wondering how long your responses were to these prompts? Since I am worried about putting too little or too much.

It says on top of the secondary page somewhere that your responses should be under 500 words

sorry dumb q, but when you send updates via email, do you just put it in the body of the email, or attach as a PDF with signature, etc?

I just wrote it in the body of the email! You could also add a PDF if you want to the email so they can attach it easily

did anybody get a confirmation email after sending an update?

Back when I applied I heard lots of ppl saying it would take a week to receive confirmation but I got an email back the next day. It was an important update so i asked them to confirm that it was added to my app

Your Application has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Applicants will be invited to interview based upon their evaluation score from the Admissions Committee review. You will be contacted by email if you are selected for an interview. Interview invitations are extended between August and March.

soft R?
Is getting interviews in November this cycle considered decent

I interviewed in March, and now I am attending with a very generous scholarship. Don't give up!

Nice to know that. Could you please give us some additional details like stats, complete date, how long were you on "scored" status, etc? Just to give us some confidence that we can be hopeful, especially as people are talking about Thanksgiving rule and stuff. Thank you in advance.

I was complete July 1st, and I don't remember how long I was "scored".

I think I submitted around 8/26 and my under review has not turned green yet indicating they are reading my application. Are we past the point that they might read my application or is there still hope?

I submitted 9/1 and am in the same position. They may still be reading! I don't think we really know how they review.

I’ve told multiple ppl who’ve asked me privately but so it’s out there for anyone curious: I submitted primary in June, received secondary in July and didn’t complete it until early October due to some personal stuff. Was never scored until I got the II in March and got a generous scholarship. 3.8ish and 515

"Congratulations! The Admissions Committee at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine has accepted you to the MD Program. A formal acceptance letter with additional information will be mailed to you in a few days so look for it in the mail. In order to reserve your place in our class, you must write back and accept the position offered to you."

Does this mean I need to write back to the written letter or reply to the email or email the admissions office to accept my offer -- I am thrilled 🙂

You can email admissions according to the paper letter that is mailed later.

Submitted secondary 8/14, still not scored. I am indifferent about this lol, anyone in the same boat? (OOS but ties to the school)
Do all people who submit a secondary receive a score? Sorry if this is a dumb question and something that can be found on their site.

Submitted 8/3 and still not scored lol. Assuming that just means I won't be. I've given up at this point.

I submitted on 08/03 and haven't been scored yet as well.

However, I would caution you in making assumptions, especially during this application cycle. In my experience, speculation just fuels neuroticism.

There's a post above that wasn't scored until March but still managed to get in. Have some faith!

Best of luck mate! 👍

Great! How long did it take for your letter to come in the mail? I got the acceptance email 11/5 and want to let them know I accept!

Incoming 2021 MS1 here (accepted Feb 2020 last cycle and deferred to continue research) - feel free to message me if you have any questions about interviews and stuff. Future roommate inquiries also welcome 🙂
