2020-2021 Stanford

Im illiterate and fail to understand what u mean lol. Would you mind clarifying why u find that odd?

Lol some people got vita before II, others got II before vita. Someone earlier in this thread claims admission office responded to their email confirming they were using VITA to pre screen applicants prior to an actual interview. But vita wouldn’t make sense as a pre screen bc some people received II before a vita invite. The II invite even says you have 2 wks to complete the VITA from this date... Make no sense, therefore odd.

Historically it is not interview-date dependent. Last year some folks received acceptances in mid-January even though they interviewed in early January. Also, this cycle the earliest possible interviews were mid-october so a November interview date would still be pretty early on in the decision timeline.

Are WLs and Rs sent at the same time as As?

I believe that Stanford only does WL post-II (no R's). In previous years WL came out a bit after the initial acceptances.

I usually have some kind of Stanford sources for my posts but both of these statements are just anecdotal based on previous years SDN threads. Grain of salt and all that.

Sorry we aren't all as fortunate as you this cycle
Sorry, didn't mean to come across as arrogant. It's just surprising that stanford is the only interview you got, given that it's the best of the best. Like I'd get it if it were rutgers or something as your only one, but that's really crazy no other lower school gave you one. Did you not have any safeties?

How big have been the interview days for you guys? I interviewed in the fall (Oct or Nov), and there were like 20-30 people, which surprised me.

for some reason it feels like... a lot of people who interviewed at Stanford this round. I wonder if they'll release any metrics but I almost feel like they really cast a broad net for interviews. Looks like I'm not the only one who's only interviewed at Stanford and gotten R'd (4) or "waiting" (12) for most schools... this is tearing my brain apart.

Previous person said that stanford said they are interviewing "south of 500"
