Does anyone know what Tulane's post II acceptance rate is? I tried to find it in this thread, but no luck (though it's very long haha).

Just off of estimates of other mid-tier private schools (to infer how many get the A and choose elsewhere), Interviews given (588 via MSAR), and Class Size (190), I'd guess about 60%, but how many are AR vs immediate A, I have no clue.

anyone complete around 8/14 still not under review?

I don't think they review entirely based on dates of completion. A whole host of factors that we pre-meds are not privileged to know go into the process. Combing through the threads, you'll see that some people who submitted in late July have not been reviewed yet, but some who submitted in mid-October have been reviewed already. The # of applications has also increased significantly this year, so might attribute to the delays.

idk why but it just seems like tulane has the most chaotic review and admissions process out of all the schools i applied to

To be fair, it’s probably because Tulane is the only school that lets us know when they are reviewing our apps. I bet other schools’ processes are equally messy, we just dunno

Hold, submitting late July under review late September. They say the majority of applicants get put on hold, I guess welcome to the unranked hold pool with the majority of 16k applications.
you just got put on hold?

I also interviewed 11/5 and DIDN'T hear back yet so idk how Tulane is splitting up their post-II reviews lol

Yeah, I think they did split the decisions. I interviewed on 11/5 and was the last on here to get an A!

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't mean to brag or flex. Just giving evidence towards a theory that they may split decisions. Positive vibes to all the applicants this cycle!

Haha no worries my dude I gotcha. Just hope to hear from them before the holidays

Not that I know of. I know two weeks ago a person who interviewed 11/5 heard back. I interviewed on 11/13 and I haven't heard anything. I'm hoping we'll know something by the end of this week!

+1. I’m also 11/13 gang and just hoping to hear back before holidays / end of 2020.

I think this official start of Week 4. Lesssss get it.

Would sending a letter of interest be worth it if you're application is still "in progress", or should I wait till I am under review? because idk how long that could take, if it ever happens.

Still on "hold for possible interview". Anybody that was in this status and got an II?

For those interested in reading the details of the admissions process at Tulane, search "filetype😛df tulane medicine admissions" in Google without the quotations. (Edit: SDN creates the tongue emoji, should be filetype: pdf, no space) It should be the first link.

The pertinent post-interview information is as follows:

I'm assuming the "random assignment of 10-12 applications per week" refers to the 1-3 weeks referred to in the document sent to interviewees, and the scoring refers to the 3-5 weeks of review in the document. So as of right now, everybody who interviewed before 11/23 should be "under review" assuming the policy has remained the same, and your admissions decision is based on how fast your 4 reviewers generate a score. As far as why some people from your interview day received a decision before you, it's possible that they benefited from the random assignment process among other things.
pretty much the way its been explained to me is that those applications are truly random (although around the same month) and what can hold up your decision for a while is sometimes ADCOMs take the max time to score you and turn it in at the last week. A score is generated and if you're above the threshold, you're accepted. Anything below is an automatic acceptance range (which is why you see so many of them).

Edit: Ah, I didn't really spill the beans. If you google that file, it's the next line about the score threshold thing.

I didn't even know I was under review yet, but I'm on hold now too. Complete at the end of September.

Current T1 at Tulane. I've interviewed a couple students this cycle. Feel free to DM or ask me questions here. This process sucks, but I'm wishing you all the best!!

Are they still offering new II's? If so, are these mostly going to those on hold? I've been under review since 10/20 and have not heard anything yet.

Placed on hold for a possible interview too. Is this a good time to send a letter of intent or are those reserved for post interview only?
