2020-2021 Tulane

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Congratulations to all the A's! Were the good news delivered by email or phone?

Dang I interviewed in October and no news so I’m probably rejected or waitlisted :

has anyone from 9/24 received an A?

Someone said they interviewed in September and got an A. Think he/she/they were on 9/24, since I think 9/24 was the only September option available.

I respectfully disagree. OP should apply, as there was an earlier post on AAMC where Tulane's Director of Admissions says that they have not given all II spot yet. Also, it is unknown how Tulane reviews post-II decisions (i.e. chronological, high stats first, legacy etc). The entire process is so varied.

It’s a 125$ secondary fee for a super low yield school

unless you’re a very strong applicant or have ties to the school I’d probably pass on applying here at this point in the cycle. Just my opinion

Just curious, how do people know they're completely scheduled for interviews through february already? Early decision was pushed back for covid, people here under review from complete in july, and a lot of the applicants arent even on sdn - just curious how its known they are booked through february? In other words if they are behind or slower due to style, covid, hurricanes - what makes it plausible they dilligently sent out all their interviews through february. most schools send IIs in blocks usually in 2-3 month blocks. they just did e.d. a month ago.

Simple. Because people here have reported scheduling their interviews in February. Earlier dates were no longer available. Tulane also does NOT send IIs in 2-3 month blocks. They're unique in their interview scheduling style.

Right. I see what you're saying posts were made saying no available II spots until Feb. I guess the second wave of IIs is what I meant and where that would conflict - possibly due to cancellations. I think it's safe to say more interviews will go out. But initially the 520s will get scheduled through Feb. accepted somewhere and therefore spots open up. Hopefully.

That is the hope. I will caution you in that with virtual interviews significantly lowering costs, the rate at which interviews are cancelled is likely to be much lower than all previous years. The December hold-list movement may not be that significant.

That's valid and unprecendented - a July/Aug app. usually wouldn't be late in fact E.D. But if those 520ers get in their hometown school or somewhere they just happen to prefer then there "hopefully" will be more interviews. It just sucks having to use a year of your life to learn to apply to Tulane in March (jk May or the first date amcas opens).

If we interviewed in Sep and did not receive anything on Friday, is it wiser just to take it as either R or waitlist?
