the other thing that makes this cycle a hell cycle is the fact that the MCAT cutoff for EDP is now 511 instead of 509 because that's the new 80th percentile. love that for us
why have the percentiles changed? because of the shorter MCAT version?the other thing that makes this cycle a hell cycle is the fact that the MCAT cutoff for EDP is now 511 instead of 509 because that's the new 80th percentile. love that for us
hmm not too sure but they updated the MCAT percentileswhy have the percentiles changed? because of the shorter MCAT version?
they didn't imply that there would be 0 movement just that it'll probably be smaller than usual and closer to CTEThis is so disheartening. This cycle has been so frustrating and I was really holding out for some WL movement from Wayne :'( Especially since my May 2018 MCAT will expire at some schools this cycle.
This may be the least stressful period of the cycle. You got nothing to lose, prepare for the next application and use your experience from this cycle... and hope for the best, who know you will get a call in July! If not you already have a job! This is soooo frustrating - I just with they'd cut us loose already and let us get on with our lives. This WL is my only option left and I wouldn't even be that salty if I got rejected, I just want to know! I can't wait until July to decide if I'm going to continue working at my job for another year - so they're really backing us into a corner here 😭
Off-topic but so glad to have you on this thread. I think premeds often forget that worrying doesn't really solve much and the collective neuroticism on this thread is contagious, but having a parental support figure (even over a forum thread) really helps ease things, at least speaking from my experienceThis may be the least stressful period of the cycle. A current student who started a couple years ago said he never had to but idk about usWhen do matriculants have to submit a drug urine test asking for a friend
Current M2 here, we have not lost either of those sites-- my M3 friends are currently rotating there. We now have to share them with MSU, but we still have access.Fr, Wayne was my top choice (out my interviews) until I saw that they somehow lost both DMC and Henry Ford in the last 2-3 years. I'm almost impressed by how bad they they are handling their school and I'm sure its only going to get worse in the future
What's happening on May 27th?Anyone else on the WL starting to get sweaty? May 27th is coming in hot
ReappsWhat's happening on May 27th?
I figured not for M1s since its not in the handbook/policies but I would think we would need to get drug tested for clerkships down the road.Do we need to do urine drug test besides titers? Do med schools do random urine tests?
Yeah that’s what I was thinking as wellI figured not for M1s since its not in the handbook/policies but I would think we would need to get drug tested for clerkships down the road.
Any current students can pitch in?
All quiet on the western front as far as I knowAnybody know if any Rs have been sent out recently?
Just give me the R so I can focus on the reapp. Don't give me hope WayneTheres so many of us on the WL, and with so little movement, I dont get why they cant at least R the people at the back of the list
If no one drops by the CTE deadline, they probably find it easier to send a mass R email rather than picking and sending individual Rs. sucks for us 🤷♂️Theres so many of us on the WL, and with so little movement, I dont get why they cant at least R the people at the back of the list
Just some dates in case anyone was wondering:If no one drops by the CTE deadline, they probably find it easier to send a mass R email rather than picking and sending individual Rs. sucks for us 🤷♂️
Commit to EnrollWhat is CTE?
Thank you.Commit to Enroll
So does that mean if we don’t hear back before the 15th it’s likely an R?Just some dates in case anyone was wondering:
Wayne's CTE deadline is june 14th and the first day of classes is July 6th... So it's really down to the wire now
i'm thinking that after everyone finalizes their A with Wayne by the 14th, Wayne may send out super late As *IF* they have empty spots from those who end up declining the A. It's entirely possible that some people PTE'd to Wayne but are waiting to get off waitlist or don't actually plan to attend Wayne but PTE'd bc their first choice doesn't require PTE (apparently schools like that exist)So does that mean if we don’t hear back before the 15th it’s likely an R?
Tough sceneHas anyone been accepted off the waitlist in like the last month? I feel like I’ve heard nothing snd the accepted students has been at 679 for a whileee
I actually heard about someone being accepted off the waitlist yesterday. They had applied early decision and were in Wayne’s BMS program. I don’t know them personally, though, so I can’t say it’s a 100% fact.Tough scene
congratulations!! are you IS or OOS?Accepted off the waitlist last week! 3.7 sGPA and 507 MCAT!
Congratulations friend!!!Accepted off the waitlist last week! 3.7 sGPA and 507 MCAT!
I think Wayne will update all at once when the waitlist movement is finished completely (I believe they did this last cycle too...?)Does that mean the tracker is not updated?
I see! well, hoping for closure soonI think Wayne will update all at once when the waitlist movement is finished completely (I believe they did this last cycle too...?)
closure is a good way to put it lolI see! well, hoping for closure soon

What were your other credentials if you want to share. Volunteer, research, work experience etc?
Late Jan. I did send a few update letters, but I'm not sure if that played a partCongratulations!! That’s amazing! When did you interview? And did you send a transcript update or any update at all?
Significant amount of hours for all 3What were your other credentials if you want to share. Volunteer, research, work experience etc?
Yes, hang in there with us.Isnt the commit to enroll deadline tomorrow? That means we would likely hear back this week if we are going to at all right ?
So since Wayne doesn't have a ranked waitlist, I doubt they will reject us until the very end. Whenever someone pulls out, they'll match their stats/ecs/interests/etc and pull from the waitlist that way, so we're probably all here until july 6thYes, hang in there with us.
It's very likely that we would hear something this coming week. They will send As if any spots become available at all. If not, they might reject the majority and keep a few still on the WL in case anyone drops their A due to emergency or unforeseen event.
Probably not tomorrow though. Im assuming the deadline would be tomorrow 11:59 pm.
