2020-2021 Weill Cornell

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
18 IIs - wow - congrats. Stats, if you don't mind?
LM 74.2. 107 WARS, propped up by extensive research experience (2k+ hours in Cornell biophysics lab + research fellowship position at Dr. Fauci's Laboratory of Immunoregulation. A couple of research awards/grants/fellowships), teaching experience (Cornell Chem TA, tutor, and course designer all throughout undergrad), and great ECs (co-founded a non-profit to help deal with COVID-induced hunger on my home island of PR).

I also think I have rlly strong essays and a powerful narrative through my app, but that's subjective of course.

lmao why do i already feel imposter syndrome ahead of my interview this week.... any advice?

i went to a small (not super well-known) undergrad and i feel like my ECs are average at best, with most people who interview at ivys being stellar applicants and/or coming from prestigious/well-known undergrads. i know i should just focus on killing the interview, but it's hard to shake the self-doubt and belief that this interview will inevitably lead to an R no matter how well i do (given the ladder analogy about applications and how much an interview will impact the eventual decision)

Well, you can also think of it as you didn't need the highflying, 'prestigious' undergrad to get this interview. That's a major accomplishment in it of itself!

Getting to this point means they wanna see who you really are, which means you've already impressed them. Somewhere in your app is something that makes Weill wanna give you a chance. All you need to do is convince yourself of what Weill already thinks of you: that you're a strong applicant who will make a great doctor someday, whether you go on to study at Cornell or elsewhere .

Good Luck!

My interviewers were really down to earth and neither of them seemed to even care about prestige or academic achievement. They really just wanted to have a conversation and see what I was like. You got picked for an interview at Weill Cornell and you deserved it!!! Go crush it and be yourself.

Also interviewing this week - Good luck to you as well! I feel you 100% but we're almost there.

hi all! Is there only one zoom link for the interview day? unsure if my link is specific to my interviews, or is also for the group presentations.

Same zoom link. You will be placed into a separate breakout room for your interviews.

For anyone who has interviewed here, are interviews open-file or closed-file?

Apologies if this was said already but, where should post-ii updates be sent? I can't seem to find it online/in my emails.

Aw rip, I thought they were still giving out invites based on what previous comments on the thread said (till mid-late feb)

for anyone who sent an update to the updates email, did you get a response other than the auto-reply?
