2021-2022 Miami

Did anyone send thank you letters here? I forgot to ask for my interviewers' information, and I saw that last year some just emailed the admissions email. Is that still where it should be sent?
I had asked admissions and they said to send thank you letters to the admissions email- then they will forward the emails to your interviewers and also keep them on your file as a record.

Thank you for your response!

To those who had interviews, how stressful was it and did you have separate interviewers?
I had two separate interviews. One is supposed to be about your activities and the other is "behavioral," but both were laidback and just felt more like conversations. Overall everyone was super friendly and I thought it was pretty low-stress.

Hey peeps, I was complete in early August but my secondary still says "currently under review by the admissions committee" and has not changed to any other stages. Are other people in this situation as well or should I reach out to Miami to see if something is missing with my application somehow?
I was complete in late August and my application just changed to scored after being under review.

That’s good to hear thanks dude for responding!

Hello! I have my interview tomorrow and wanted to see if anyone who interviewed already had to do it in another language? I heard that Miller has interviewed in other languages that applicants have marked as being proficient in. Thanks!

I hope not lol...I am proficient in another language but speaking is the worst component for me and would really not feel my best interviewing in that language, so I feel your worry too...

I've never heard of this happening (it's not impossible, but def not common). I could maybe see it happening in spanish or maayyyybe creole since those are actually relevant here. but unlikely imo

I was asked a question in Spanish where it was expected for me to answer in Spanish. Except for that one question, the rest of the interview was conducted in English. I marked “fluent” on my application so they may or may not do it for lower levels of proficiency. I think if you marked another language (except maybe creole) they will likely not assess it. A massive portion of their patient population speaks only Spanish so I think some interviewers (particularly those who are fluent in Spanish) may be motivated to check that people aren’t inflating their proficiency in the language and would actually be able to communicate with Spanish-speaking patients if they mark a high level like “fluent.”

Thank you for sharing! That's helpful to know

Based off my November complete day, I'll see my II in 2022
I'm curious if our complete date still matters once we're scored? I was complete 2 months ago in Oct and scored 1 month ago. If it is by complete date then yeah it might be a while for me (or never)

Complete 3 months ago and still not scored. I wonder why they don’t like me lol
As far as I can tell, being scored may not have any discernable meaning. That or the portal itself is just trash. You can be invited with or without being scored and being scored doesn't mean you'll get a II. Thanks Miller!

I’ve been scored for months and nothing yet lol

Anecdotally, 10-15 minutes of one of my interviews was in Spanish and I also marked that I grew up speaking it at home

Ok, so I put tomorrow as my first choice for interview day, but I have not had any communication from the admissions office, and they will not answer the phone.....what should I do?

It most likely isn't gonna be tomorrow because they would've sent an email a few days ago to watch the orientation video I think. Maybe try calling and leaving a voicemail or send a follow up email?
