2021-2022 UC Riverside

Phew, thank goodness. Applications are making me neurotic and I start second guessing everything. My first instinct was "yeah, that totally counts" but then I started thinking about it way too hard...
Haha if anything you are ahead of me since i am only a SoCal resident. They just want to find applicants who are genuinely willing to stay in that region and practice

II. Riverside resident for 20+ years. Complete 8/4. Only date was 10/9. Anyone else confirm this? I was hoping for more options!
First off congrats!!! I also only had 10/9 as an option, couldnt choose a time either

Yeah I only had the 8am option as well. Seems like all others were filled then unforuntately.

hi to future interviewees! congrats!! i did mine last week but i think they only give out one day for a pool of people. I only had one choice and then when i asked we were the only interview day they had set at that time.
Did they mention how long it’ll take for decisions to come out after interviewing?

hi - congrats on your interview! can you speak on how the interview was (stressful? chill?) / how much prep you did for it? thanks 🙂

haha funny story. i felt pretty calm before it all, but 5 mins before i started bawling and then threw up but after that I think it went super well! (went thru 5 stages of grief at once i guess ><). There wasnt too much time to prep because they only gave us 4 days before the actual interview day for the first interview of the season TT^TT. but i think they give other people a lot more days. i was already prepping for another interview when i got the notice so i would say maybe 5 days? i practiced with my friends (God bless them cause theyre not even premed)! goodluck everyone

LMAO i’m glad it went well best of luck to u thanks for the response 🥺

Any Haider applicants receive an II yet?
you mean ucr alum who applied to EAP?

I did! but already did my interview the first date!

dont worry about whether or not you got your interview relative to other haider students cause in my interview there was only like 3 other UCR people and the rest were all different schools. they care more about your app so unless you got an R, just trust they are going thru them slowly

Anyone know what their policy is on updates?
They told me during interview day that they allow 2 uploads if you interviewed and 1 upload if you didn’t. Not sure if I understood it correctly but makes sense because you get one time to upload a thank you letter and one update doc

for the document uploads, that is only if they request things right? or are supposed to upload other things?

you can upload update letters but i heard only if you have something significant since your app submission

Do you guys know if they send rejections pre-II? Or do they wait till all interviews are done to send rejections?

We’re you all marked complete or under review? Submitted early and still just “complete”

In what type of healthcare setting do you see yourself practicing medicine?
For this question are they asking if we want to practice in a private clinic vs hospital?
That’s a very open ended question and it asks basically what type of doctor do you want to be? - community doc, private practice doc, VA/Kaiser/institution do, academic, urban focused, rural focused, etc. good luck.

hi yall! just know UCR is just very slow in looking over apps. when I asked them if its in order they said they dont necessarily go in order and they do send rejections later so theres always hope. They truly are just looking for mission fit people (also i had an ii their first day so I asked them during the info sesh)

When you check your application status is there a difference between "Your application is ready" and " Your application is now complete and awaiting review" or is this different wording for each school meaning the same thing?

I think it's just how different schools have it worded.

Damn UCR is moving hella slow lol. I submitted secondary 9/28, but my app wasnt complete until 10/8 because of LORS.
Looks like Im on track to receive correspondence in 2022 🤣

Man somehow it feels like UCR has only sent like 2-3 waves of IIs, they're really taking their sweet time, especially since they wanted the secondary in like 10 days....
