Not that they would see this, but kudos to the students who defended Dr. Khoury and how valuable her insight/experience is, especially in a field that continues to uphold racist practices. I doubt it's easy for them to put their names out there and to go against the administration of the very same school they attend.

this is… bad
It is. I learned about the case just before my interview with them last year and decided to still attend hoping to learn more about it.

I was lucky to be in a Q&A with the dean, however when I asked about it he brushed it off as online gossip. I understand that details of a pending case cannot be shared, but responding with something along the lines of people will say whatever they want on the internet was not what I expected. Felt super awkward considering I’d looked at the publicly available CA court filing before choosing to bring it up… just wanted to share since the case has developed further and folks are making admissions decisions.

Very disheartening to hear, even more so when considering diversity and inclusion is such a huge part of their mission.

thank you for sharing. this article is very scary because medical racism is so prominent in medicine today and the fact that a professor was simply trying to share ways to avoid it/share her own experiences and she was not warned about it (which would have also been bad) but straight up fired is sooooo scary to me. why do they think what she said is bad?? scary to think med schools are intentionally trying to hide exceptional and i would even say life saving information like this. cultural competency is SO important. okay sorry just got mad all over again lol

Email was yesterday 😭 so end of February I guess
I interviewed 1/17 and they said we’ll all have decisions by early March. It’s not really giving “rolling admissions” but I guess more time for them to think about how awesome we all are 😎

Just got II wow, I am actually shocked. I am fortunate to have already gotten an A at another school, however this being a free school and in my home state, I am pretty excited!

They accepted 126 students but only a percentage of those students will choose to matriculate. The 126 also includes those who are pulled off the waitlist.
Oh makes sense. I mean this is one of my top choices so would be nice to get the A but I feel it is even harder now that we are later.
