Ok good to know Tulane doesn't screen which makes even less sense why I was never placed under review. I completely agree with the other posters too that they are looking for a particular type of applicant regardless of scores. So I don't understand why I was never placed under review but I have just sent an email to indicate my situation and see what they say. Thanks for the advice.

They only interview max 40 ED applicants is what I was told. They said it wouldn't be fair otherwise.
Not necessarily. Some people have connections with Tulane. I think my ECs is pretty average.
I specified why I like Tulane in my secondary throughout my smp experience at Tulane, had strong LORs from Tulane som faculties

whatever order that will allow them to check apps that interest them the most. I think most med schools have some sort of filter in their system so that certain apps get recommended/chosen to be reviewed earlier. So it's not always completely chronological.

Yea, it means your app has been assigned to a reviewer and the next notice you'll get is a decision regarding whether you get an interview.

Did they tell you why you weren't put under review?
They told me that all ED apps were reviewed but my app just didn't get a status update on my portal for whatever reason and not to worry about the notifications or status updates and that my application including all ED apps were reviewed. I guess some people don't get status updates when they go under review for whatever reason.

So I take it that you were set for Tulane and only applied ED? Don't you get put in RD and can apply to other schools? Surely it wouldn't be too late if you got a stellar background. I know many friends who had stellar backgrounds and lower-than-average MCATs who applied in November and still got accepted to a top MD schools.

Yes I got deferred to RD. I'll be applying across the board now, thanks for the advice. I know my chances are lower cause its later in the cycle but I am still going to try.
Not too late. Know plenty of people who didn't submit their primary until October and got verified in late November/early December and still got in to MD & DO

I wonder what determines the order they're reviewed (aside from chronologically).
Never thought of filtering for EC hours before. Mine must be very inflated from my job.I wonder if they sort applications out by hours of community service or some other form of EC stratification. It would make sense to me as Tulane is more "holistic" for what it is worth. It doesn't quite seem to me that they would care too much about ranking the order of review by GPA and MCAT for this reason. Or, It could just be all random chance.
if you took Casper, then generally 2-3 weeks (mostly 2 weeks) after taking the exam, schools should already have your scores. An email from Casper would tell you if it was sent to schools and address the schools you indicated to be sent to.
