Does anyone know how much of a weight CASPer has on the application? I didn't do well and it stresses me out a lot

Their director of admissions said at a talk that they were just using it for internal research and just like having the data. I wouldn't worry about it much since they don't even require it.

Given how new Casper is to many schools (yes, even after a few years of use, it is still a new thing since not all medical school is adapting to it or really find it to mean anything), a good score will only help you but a low score will not hurt you.

What disparities in health do you believe are pertinent to the New Orleans patient population? Do they want us to just research the school if we aren't from tulane?

I’m confused by your response? What relevance does % AA have to do with the significance of health disparities?
I think they're just underscoring that the minority population of the city (non-AAs) have way better health outcomes and the disparity is so large despite the fact that there is such a high percentage of AAs

Do we think Tulane is still going to favor people who submitted super early, I heard they did in past cycles, but interviews went out way earlier in those cycles I think

i just submitted secondary LOL

I'm sorry to hear, would you mind sharing when you were complete please?

I submitted my secondary on 6/28. I am OOS and did not have any ties with Louisiana so I was not expecting a lot to happen but was worth a shot. FYI their rejection email states they received around 17,000 applicants and only have 190 spots for students. They do not offer application coinciding either.

they already received 17k apps???? I mean I know Tulane tends to have their application cycle start earlier than other MD schools, but damn

For those put on hold, were you guys under review at any time? Seems kinda unfair if they just do that without even reviewing your app :/

Did you go under review or did they just straight up reject you?

Ouch, first R of the cycle. I'm a reapplicant and the first one always hurts the most :/

2.78 uGPA, 3.98 SMP GPA, 521 MCAT, ORM, OOS
I guess they must be very selective in who they want outside of stats. Seems a lot like rush.

It's a low-yield school and you clearly have a compelling story to tell. Your stats show that you have the intellect to be a physician, and your improvement shows you have the resiliency. Don't let this one get to you.

I'm not sure what Tulane even wants. I know it is not about stats because there are many people I know who got in with 495-510 range. One person took the mcat 5 times and highest was 498 and got in. Current MS 2 now.
