When you all submit updates, how do you send them? Do you add a document to your file or do you email admissions?

Hey hey!

I'm looking to add in 1 more DO school app 🙁 would y'all say that at this point most of the interviews or even class size has been filled? I'm also applying as a Canadian. - LM 61.2 - MCAT 4x ik application killer.

P.S. I might be posting this into 2-3 forums honestly looking for some advice as I haven't heard back from most of the MD and DO schools I've applied to ... 😢

Are there any current students that can comment on their clerkship rotations? How were their hub sites/ did they have to get displaced for certain blocks? Quality of the experience overall?

is anyone’s app still marked as incomplete? i submitted my secondary and they said it should take a couple weeks before it’s marked as complete but it still hasn’t been. it says they’re still pending review of my LORs. at this point, should i call? i feel like it’s been way too long but idk if it’s possibly because of the holidays?

I had the same issue. Literally waited almost 3 months and just decided to send an email. The letters were marked complete within 10 minutes

Did you end up getting an ii? I was told that I’m in queue for an interview last month as well
If you don't mind me asking did they call you or email you saying you were in the queue for an interview? Or did you call them yourself to ask?

They told me during a consultation I had with an adcom member, I wasn't expecting them to let me know that way tbh

How long does it typically take to hear back from an interview? Has anyone heard back since the New Year?

I was considering doing the consultation with an adcom member, do you think it's too late for that? And do you think it would increase my chances of receiving an interview?

I'm sorry but I'm not sure, I doubt it would hurt to do the consultation though. At the very least it helped me get an idea of what they think of my app and answer some other questions

anyone have any insight on interview turnaround time? the one question i forgot to ask in mine lol

Is it considered late if we havent gotten an II yet? I thought acceptances go until April ish

same here. i had a consultation and the adcom member said “let’s get you scheduled. keep an eye out for your email.” its been almost 4 weeks now and still nothing 🥲

I got an R saying I won't be considered for an interview from Rowan today but the thing that is confusing me is that I hadn't even submitted my secondary yet I still had one essay left and hadn't paid the fee. I called them and they said they can review my secondary before I submit it and decided to make a decision before I sent them my completed application. Is this weird to anyone or is it just me.

Hi,

Still waiting but I was wondering if you know anything about SGL vs PBL.
How do you like it?
Would you change it?
Are you even able to change the track once you get accepted to a certain track?

Congrats on the acceptance! Can I ask when you submitted your application and when you received an interview invite?

OOS Alternate List 1/17, Interviewed 1/2. Does anyone have insight about the alternate list and how likely it is to be accepted from it?

Does the school provide you with a laptop or tablet... and if so do you think what they give you is suitable enough or more of a hindrance? Mine broke recently and was debating whether to spend the money on a newer model or wait for a school-issued one somewhere.

I am PBL Stratford. There are about 50 people in my class and we meet MWF to present information to our classmates regarding a clinical case we are working through. For example, if we suspected our patient had COPD then next class someone would present on obstructive lung diseases and we would use that information to continue working through the case. PBL is self-guided learning. Rowan gives you the resources and you decide what works best for you. You decide how/where/when you study. There is only one exam at the end of each block, unlike SGL where they have quizzes and exams every few weeks.

Pros: Studying freedom, less exams, more free time, smaller groups, self-guided
Cons: exams are high stakes since there is only one, more time on campus, have to hold yourself accountable

Overall, I am very content with my decision to do PBL. I would absolutely not switch and in fact I feel like I am exactly where I'm meant to be 🙂

Once you are accepted to a certain track, there is not much wiggle room. If you were accepted to SGL and you want to switch to PBL, I would reach out to admissions ASAP explaining your reason for wanting to switch. I think switching from PBL to SGL might be a little easier (but why would you want to do that? 😛) just because it's the larger part of our class, there are more seats.

If you aren't sure, Rowan has an option to shadow a PBL student. I definitely recommend that. I didn't do it as an applicant and went into PBL blind.

Yes, we got the Lenovo Think Pad L13 Yoga Gen 4 during orientation. It has worked well for me but tbh I don't use it for much other than projecting my presentations during case and taking exams but there are people in my class who use it like a personal laptop.

Very highkey, save your money. Look up the name I told you and see if it is something you would be ok with.

Is it true that PBL take board-style exams and SGL take in-house exams? Also does Rowan provide any discounts for third-party resources like UWorld? Thank you!

Can any recent As mention typically how long it took post interview to get a decision? I was told 2 weeks but wondering how accurate that window was at this point in the cycle
