Does Tulane have a bad reputation or something?? Yes I know the pointlessness of us news and world rankings, but does anyone know why Tulane is not ranked at all??? just any insight would be helpful please. thanks
The rankings primarily measure the funding received from the govt for research. Tulane is not a research powerhouse, thus it is not ranked. That may matter to you, or it may not, and I suggest for most applicants it really should not matter. But it has nothing to do with the quality of the education you will receive at Tulane.
From what I understand, the Tulane class is not filled with academic super-stars or future leaders in academic medicine. They're not very focused on research and they seem to choose students mostly on "fit". I have a friend who is in his 3rd year there and he says that his classmates are unbelievably laid back and happy to be in a lively city like New Orleans. I didn't apply because I feel like I wouldn't fit in in that environment at all. He said they like to accept people who are going to gel with the rest of the class and who have strong outside interests like music.

It specifically states in the US News footnotes that Tulane was one of the many schools that chose not to fill out the US News survey - hence its not that its not ranked, it can't be ranked due to lack of sufficient data
