So just because of all your experiences I haven't called at all. I figure if they want to call & invite me, great; if not, I'll wait it out until they outright reject me. It's still early.
 
Anybody interviewing on Sept 29th? I am heading to New Orleans on Sunday and just wanted to see who will be on my day!!

Oh man you're so lucky. Tulane is my top choice for school and personal reasons. I commented on your MDapps, we have really similar stats except for an SMP. Good luck to ya! The city is great! Try and spend a night on the town, preferably after your interview, if you catch my Et-OH laden drift🙂

Had my interview there yesterday. Amazing school, amazing people, amazing city. I'm writing my feedback now.

I'm staying with a student host.

Did you guys manage to do arrange that? I am reading through all the feedback and I feel like there isn't that much I can do in terms of preparing. I really hope that there won't be a strange question coming out of left field!

I'm staying at their rez. I haven't really prepared for this one, I'm just going to be myself and hopefully things will turn out ok.

I'm actually really looking forward to Monday, if only because I think the whole experience is going to very relaxed.

Wait, where are you staying? I'm looking forward to it also. The interview feedbacks all make it sound like a relaxing and fun day, as did gradu8.

I'm staying at their medical student residence, Deming Pavillion is what it's called I believe. I wanted to get an idea of how it is in the event (cross fingers) that I actually am accepted to Tulane.

Yeah, it should be fun.
 
So I was peeking through this thread and I realized I didn't even notice those Q1, Q2 questions. (I didn't even know they were questions) Did anyone else do this? If so, did Tulane say anything?
 
Does anyone know if they accept AP bio credit or if you can use advanced courses to fulfill the requirement? I emailed them a week ago and havent heard anything and I can never seem to get anybody on the phone.
 
There isn't a need to prepare for the interview. It is seriously a conversation. So if you know things about yourself, you're okay.

Yep, they do. No worries. Great interview day, it was a ton of fun! It was really funny how students everywhere would stop the interviewees to talk about Tulane. They all love it!
 
Called the admissions office this morning, and for those that interviewed Early Decision the letters have been sent out today... Good luck!!!
 
does anyone know if there's a certain time frame for status check calls? (ie call between these hours on this day)

It's somewhere in this thread, but I think it was Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 9 and 1 (2?) CST.

I think it was on the email they sent or the .doc file with the instructions, not their website, but now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure it was Tu/Th, and I know that it was from the morning until early afternoon NOLA time.

Haven't heard from Tulane in awhile so I called them. Turns out they LOST my secondary. wtf is going on over there? I suggest people check their status by calling & don't assume they have everything.

There was another poster who stated that they lost his/her application as well. This is ridiculous. How do you LOSE an electronic application, and why aren't they notifying people that this has ocurred?
 
I know I saw that too. That's why I called! If I could I would ask for a refund... seriously how do you lose an electronic secondary? She said she will contact IT and I should call back on Tuesday.

I hadn't heard from Tulane in a while either. Called today and they 'lost' my application too. Complete B.S.

I even spoke with an admissions person a few weeks ago to add something to my application (which they did) and now they're acting like they never got my secondary to begin with. They're looking into it with IT and I have to call back on Tues.

This process is absolutely mind numbing...

lol, they really said they lost your application also? What is going on here, something doesn't add up.
 
I sent an e-mail about a week ago asking about my status. Yesterday I got a reply asking if/when I sent my secondary. That's when I got suspicious. I called today and she said they have "no record" of my secondary submission or payment and she would tell IT.

Did your credit card statement show that you paid? I called two weeks ago and they told me I was complete, but now you all have me fearing that my application got lost.
 
yes & i have the confirmation from tulane (which I told the lady but she ignored me). They are so disorganized over there I wouldn't trust anything without proof. I'm very disappointed.

count me in for another lost application. I took care of it a few weeks ago though. It seems like it wasn't too hard for them to find it. but it is kinda crazy.

U could try to get your $ back through your bank or credit card company. :idea:

I'm seriously considering doing this...

I mean, the Adm Office is a reflection of the SOM, right? :meanie:

Really looking forward to hearing some good news on the 15th!!!

I wonder if Dr. Beckman calls us directly or if they'll send snailmail offers...

I was there with you... actually sat right next to you and chatted with you in the morning session (judging by your mdapps, I'm pretty sure I think I know who you are) .. hoping for some good news too! Gradu8in2003 said that they will be snail-mailing offers on the 16th.. so that means we won't receive them until a few days later 🙁
 
Are there any current Tulane med students/alums out there who might be willing to answer some questions? I'm looking at trying to "link" to Tulane from my post-bac program, but want to know more about the school from students before I visit to make my final decision...
 
i emailed them about my application last week, hallelujah they emailed me back today and said i was complete- so i'm guessing that means they still have my app 😎

Booooooo. I want to know tomorrow. Hopefully it arrives by the 18th.
 
Oh dear, so I called and spoke to Susanna Vargas today.

AND WOW! I am INNNN!

I can't even begin to express how happy I am. I never thought that the day would come where a sub-3.0 GPA applicant would get in...

I guess this really shows how Tulane focuses a lot on extracurricular work and external interests!

2.82 BCPM? I am impressed, you must have had some crazy extracurrics... i haven't even gotten an interview

how come your mdapps isnt update with interview, etc?
 
that was my md app from last year.

This year my cgpa is at a 2.98.. yes a little lower than the previous year since AMCAS calculated it wrong last year.

As for my extracurriculars.. yes, I would say that it is definitely my strong point! PM me if you need more info!
