Now it says this:

"Boston University is currently experiencing technical problems with its web services. As a result, applicants to BUSM are unable to login in to MyApplication. We are working on the issue and expect a resolution within the next few hours. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience."
 
I'm also a BU student and got the same e-mail message about all the servers crashing - and just so everyone can relax, the e-mail said they expect services to be unavailable until 7:30pm tonight.
 
Heard back from my interviewer a few hours ago! Really wasn't expecting this, and am completely thrilled! 🙂
 
I was going to avoid asking, but this whole process is nerve-wracking, so I suppose I will: Anyone else interview with Dr. Feinberg and hear anything?
 
Do you think they've just increased the window of time they allow faculty to contact students?

Faculty: you guys only give us one day to do this, we have busy schedules and suddenly scheduling the time to do this is proposterous!!

Adcom: fine fine fine, we'll make it 3 days instead of just one, we'll notify them via e-mail 3 days after we release the names to you guys
 
It was more than 3 days in January. More like 5 that people received calls or emails.
 
so who's betting on tomorrow? if i get rejected at this point i'll be crushed!
 
So this is an odd question, but does anyone know (I know someone mentioned their interviewer said over the phone that they mailed acceptance packages out already), when they sent them out? Was it just on the 30th?

I ask b/c I just got a package notification email from my school, but I can't go get it till tomorrow morning when the post office opens again, and I highly doubt it's anything from BU this soon (it's probably just easter candy or something from my aunt...which is awesome too haha)...but this whole waiting process has me at about 100X the level of neurotic I'm usually at 😛

Well, here's to hoping for some good news for all of us tomorrow...so that we don't have to feel like Spartan warriors anymore haha

I am of the impression they were sent out today. That is the word anyway... But who knows.

Edit: Which probably means they havent come yet.

Definitely what I figured, thanks! Oh well..at least I'll have some chocolate to keep me company in class 🙂

i got a call on the afternoon of 3/30 and my interviewer said that the packets/packages/whatever were already out in the mail (apparently). i live far away from Boston (in Arizona) so i likely won't see mine until at least Friday

Sweet, thanks...I live in Virginia, so it's rather unlikely that a package would be down here already, but I guess you never know, if they really were already IN the mail yesterday. I think I'm going to assume it's a package from a family member instead, otherwise I'll be really disappointed haha.

That's awesome you're from AZ. I was born in Tucson, though I haven't lived there for years..I miss the heat! And the mountains.
 
Only this process could make those chocolate bunnies from your aunt leave a bad taste in your mouth if its not an acceptance package.

Hey mysteryrunner,

so I haven't heard from Dr. Kahn yet. I would think that he would call... well, at least he seems like the type of interviewer that would call but this process has gotten me so unsure of myself and of everything else that I don't know.

anyways, I felt like I had a good interview with him and I had (well still have) HIGH hopes and dreams for BU. Let me know if you get the call! and good luck :xf:

Still waiting... does that "aka"= bad news?... trying to be optimistic...

did my undergrad at U of A in tucson 🙂 ...and i swear, i must be the only person originally from phoenix who actually likes tucson, or at least loved going to school there. and yes, the heat and mountains are nice. boston is quite a bit different lol.

Haha nice, you may just be...I only lived in the Phoenix area for a year during elementary school, before we moved to Minnesota for a couple years. Bit of a shock, really. I think you'll be better prepared for Boston 🙂 So does that mean you are a UofA fan and not ASU?

BU status page is back. Still no updates though.

ah man, that sucks for me. i live in boston so if i was accepted my packet probably would've arrived by now, but my mailbox is empty...crap

I work in a large academic institution similar to BU. I frequently have to send out letters to study participants and the like, so I can tell you from experience that when you put something "in the mail" it really is hard to judge when it will escape the clutches of the institution. If everything was to run more smoothly, I might actually have money in my bank account from travel reimbursement... and the mail system is the same way.

Don't fret over something that someone might have heard from someone who heard from someone else on the adcom. Just typing that was confusing!

Did anyone have Dr. Sprinz and if so did you receive a call yet? PM if you don't want to say on the forum. I'm really hoping she has just been too busy to call :xf:
 
Yea, it was already said, but I'm a GMS 2nd year as well. Almost all of BU's online services were down yesterday. They're back up today. This is driving me insane!

Cap'n, I wouldn't worry. If you go back several pages to the January acceptances, there were several in the Boston area that received their packets after some on the West Coast!

You are never out of the running until you have the effing rejection in your hand (or inbox).
 
im betting it wont be today, maybe they were even right on the next week thing! but if an interviewer called today sounds more like a calling day rather than status update day 😎

haha, i think its that there aren't any more expectations from BU. "definitely before april" didn't hold true, so no need to be refreshing every second until the end of next week arrives, imo
 
I think it was a big let down that everyone wasn't able to find out anything before April. I think we're all a little disappointed it has taken this long. I'm just trying to be patient and avoid irrational actions (i.e. calling my interviewer or the office of admissions). 😀 Just hang in there everyone!

I think my interviewer would find a way to punch me in the face through the phone. The people who had the same one as me would agree, I would assume.:slap:
