Actually with your small pool question, I would say if your numbers are competitive, (MCAT of 30^) (GPA 3.5^) then you should hear from them very soon. Also, I didn't know that was how the BMS program worked. Anyways I have been on post interview hold. I interviewed back in October.

usually you will get an email that says you are in the small pool, therefore passing the initial review. however, i've read on past posts that sometimes they don't tell you that you have been smalled pooled and just give you an interview. can always email or call them to talk to an admissions councelor about your application status.

So... are we all expecting not to hear anything from RFU regarding acceptances this month? I just read the 08/09 application thread, and it doesn't look like they sent out any in January. It did look like they sent out a LOT of rejections Pre Interview though....

I interviewed the 11th. The admission councelor said to expect to hear back By the lastest the end of the first week of February. That's about a 4 week time period. Every year is different. I would believe she knows what she is talking about.

Just got small pooled 1/18/10... Application complete on 10/28/09.... OOS... no chance..haha

Isn't RFU a private school? Does IS/OOS matter then? I was smallpooled/complete same time as you about, and am OOS also, but I would love to be in Chicago..

Do they take LOIs or update letters?

Thanks for the info. I was hoping to hear next week, but 1 week later isn't bad. I've been "on hold" 2 cycles now... hoping 3rd time is the charm.

Complete 10/28. Small-pooled 1/15. Interview invitation 1/21. Confirmed interview date 3/15. International student. I love this school!

Congrats!!

I was also complete on the 28th, so hopefully I'll hear some good news soon too! Although, I think there are people who have been complete from September and not heard anything. Rosalind does rejections, right? The order that these medical schools process applications seems very strange to me.

Yes, I hope so...Wish you the best!

I was complete in January... 🙁

3.45/34Q

March interviews are already filling up
Do I have any chance??

There is very much a chance. Actually, when I got the invite, January, February, and March slots were available. I chose March for personal reasons. Don't worry.

Hey, anybody want to share about their interview experience? Will appreciate it a lot. Pls send me a PM if you prefer that route.

Hey, Is anyone interviewing on Monday interested in grabbing dinner or drinks? I am flying in from CA and refuse to waste a day/night staying in at the Courtyard Mariott....

how long does this small pool limbo situation last?

Should I send another update or something?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Hey everyone, I've got my interview comin' up this Tuesday, the 26th! Just wanted to wish everyone else luck who's got the same day as me (and everyone else, of course), and welcome all you out-of-towners. Just be prepared, looks like a lot of people were surprised that it's not terribly close to the airport, but it's not terrible. :xf::xf::xf:

in recent years, CMS has been notoriously friendly to out-of-state applicants (especially people from california). that has been diminishing though and, from what i hear, have begun giving preference to illinois residents.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I am in the same boat. I called to double-check in spite of the email note about not taking updates. They don't take updates. 🙁

does anyone know what percentage of applicants are small pooled, and then what percentage of small pooled applicants eventually get interviewed? Thanks🙂

Any one get interview invitation lately?
Small pooled on 1/12/10 not hear anything yet.

I just got my small-pool email! =) Rosalind seems like a super cool place.

But reading through recent posts, it seems like people are hanging out in the small pool for quite a while.

complete = late November
small pool = late January
invite decision = ?

has anyone been straight out rejected? or does everyone end up smallpool/interview? (just trying to figure out how "small" the small-pool actually is..🙄

Hah! Many people definitely do get rejected before being interviewed. Just look at the numbers. So if you get invited to interview then you should feel proud.

Total admissions data: 9995 applied, 783 interviewed, 509 were accepted, 190 enrolled

http://www.eduers.com/Medical/Illinois/Rosalind_Franklin_University_of_Medicine_and_Science.html

And although there's no data on the small-pool numbers because it's a non-standard application state, I would guess that a whole lot of people never even get small-pooled. So just getting a small-pooled application should make a person feel proud.

Has anyone ever tried calling for a status check on the day they send out email for holds/acceptances and gotten any REAL info?

I think today or tomorrow they will be sending out acceptances. Due to last years thread, and also someone posted here "before the end of the first week in February" but they usually send out notices on the Tuesday or Wednesday.

So... I'm here, sitting by my email... anxiously waiting for something to come. Nothing so far, but I'm not expecting it until after lunch, as that seems to be the pattern.

Anyway, just wondering if I should bother calling, or just wait... like I have been for the past 2 cycles... (on hold)

In case you're serious about your concerns, I got that podiatry email and was accepted within a month. I really just think they send it to most (if not all) applicants. So no worries!

No email so far.... No posts on SDN about being accepted....

Maybe the emails will go out tomorrow? Or are people just being quiet, and my last name starts with a "Z" so its taking a while to get to me?

No emails for me either today. Hopefully tomorrow :/

Ok, so you know how people come on here immediately after getting rejected so that other people kind of know that the school sent out letters/emails that day,
Well I see none of that hear.
I feel like I was the only one to get a rejection! (pre-interview)

I'm actually really disappointed/pissed. I really wanted to go here and (I know its not everything, but) My numbers were super competitive and I had a really good app.

Oh well, such is the application process. Good luck!

Sorry to hear that. I hope you're having better luck with other schools you've applied to/interviewed at! 🙂

Btw. were you rejected after small pool or before?

Don't feel bad. A lot of people only post interview invites/acceptances and not rejections. It's not really something most enjoy sharing. I'm positive you're not the only one.

actually if you look at the last couple of acceptance waves this application cycle, 2 happened on tuesday and one happened on thursday, assuming the days they posted were the day they received acceptance. i would just keep hanging in there, it's out of our hands now, no sense in worrying about it. That will only drive you crazy.

do you guys really think they'll get back to us today or tomorrow? I remember they said "the earliest you will hear back is at the end of the week"....but that's the EARLIEST. I hope we dont have to wait a whole month or something! :xf::xf::luck:

I have no idea. Last years thread found out the 2nd Tuesday in February... but every year is different. I just was hoping this week because of this post...

I don't know how you guys actually get information out of admissions. Every time I call they don't give me any information. "They usually send out acceptances once a month..."

accepted!!! Thank you Rosalind Franklin. Good luck everyone else waiting to hear back.
