Wasn't there a meeting last Friday? Do you really think they're gonna meet back-to-back weeks? Doesn't sound like Wash U's style. Just hurry up and send me my waitlist notification.
 
my guess would be the next meeting would be at the end of february, but who knows? maybe people will get a status update in the next 15 minutes

How does WashU let you know you're waitlisted? Has anyone who interviewed on or around Dec. 4th heard back with an acceptance, rejection or waitlist?

I interviewed Dec. 7th-ish or sometime around there. I haven't heard anything, but I know people who interviewed in January who have already been accepted. I met some students when I visited who interviewed in October but weren't accepted until March. I guess we still have a chance, but I am just proceeding like I got rejected.

Does anyone know if they meet again this Friday? It seems like they have been meeting every two weeks or so.

My interviewer told me meetings were every 3 weeks.
 
At my interview they said everyone would hear accepted/waitlisted/rejected by either March 15 or April 15. Does anyone remember which it is?
 
I received an interview invite yesterday, but I'm not sure if they send them out all at once. All I can say is that's I'm really honored and a little nervous.

ksmi, do you know when we are supposed to hear about the other merit scholarships?
 
i just poked around last year's thread, and it looks like merit scholarships go out in april

april 15

oo which is why they still might still send out scholarships in april (so they can consider people accepted later?). anyway if ksmi calls then we'll know.

someone's mdapps had 100% tuition by washU...
 
i'm not going to assume that they've given out all (or even the majority) of their scholarships when only one person has listed it on mdapps

Wouldn't surprise me, I met him at my UChicago interview day, he's an awesome guy with an unbelievable application. I'm pretty sure WashU isn't his first choice though...

i wonder what he did? i remember his mcat was 40+ and i think he had a 4.0 and a masters, but that doesnt translate to his success. he has to have done something else pretty awesome. great stats can get you into a school or two, but not that many

how were you not interviewed by harvard? thats insane. i know some ppl that got interviews there with an app i would consider fairly average for their apparent standards.

didn't say anything about disbelief-just was surprised that an award like that wasn't mentioned on the forum...full ride to top 5 school seems like a great gift

Sure it does. :laugh: I'm sure he's got much more to offer then that, but the bolded portion will take you a loooong way, that and being a genuinely decent human being, which he certainly seems to be.

jerew, if you're reading this, how's the school choice process coming along? It's gotta be a tough call, good luck! :luck:
 
Says the super nice lady in the financial aid office: "I'm not part of all that, but I've been hearing things about it. Just a guess, but maybe within the next week or two."

This is from the first phone number on the email. I didn't call the second (314) 362-6851 because it might go the same place and then I'd look silly. If someone else wants to call that number, go for it. 🙂

Also, if you're worried about then not having your FAFSA, they are still working on their IT stuff, so that's why they aren't showing up as received online.

and I think in past years they've notified people if they're on the waitlist for the scholarship or if they haven't been selected for it, so we'll know either way
 
Hello All!

So I surreptitiously updated my MDApps, which some friends/family are following since it's an easy way for them to keep track of what is going on. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it by posting since I'm by now pretty easily identified. But at any rate, I did get the good word, and I am very excited by Wash U. They have a lot of scholarships to give, so I'm sure there are others as well who got them, and will be many more to come. I think they have like 16 maybe? If anyone wants any more details on my thoughts/stats, feel free to PM me (Stein and ksmi I'll PM you). Oh, and thanks for the kind words SteinUmStein, you're clearly an awesome dude yourself! I see you are thinking MI? Incredible place.

congrats jerew! i sincerely hope they have more to give, otherwise i won't be able to attend washu. well, first have to get that acceptance. any ideas as to when we will hear more news?

it seems like last year they had a round of acceptances at the end of february. i suppose you'll see if any statuses get updated tonight

Haha, if you read Stein's comment, you'll see we actually met in person at U Chicago. I'm pretty sure I got the gender call right 🙂 Really nice guy, and an XKCD reader to boot!
 
Yep, I'm a dude, and I'm really excited about Michigan... I'm just hoping they're as excited about me. 😛 I guess I'll find out in a few weeks. I'm 99% sure I'm not going to WashU, even if I get in. But congrats to all who did get in, it's an awesome school with great people and St. Louis seems like a fun place.

Congrats on all your success jerew, you have an exciting road ahead of you! 👍
 
so, it's 12:35am CST - anybody get a status change? i'm trying to figure out whether my unchanged page is bad news or not :scared:.

...although i kind feel (read: hope) that a meeting this week would've been a little soon, given that the last one was only 2 weeks ago.
