Completed: 9/14
Interview invite: 10/14
Interview date: 12/7 (studying abroad at the moment)
OOS, BCPM 3.67, Total 3.74, 34Q

Congrats to everyone that's been accepted and good luck to everyone interviewing! SLU is one of my top choices.

Quick question, I read through the thread and it looks like you get either morning or afternoon interviews correct? Not both?

Correct, you get just one interview. In between the two interview time slots you get a financial aid presentation, tour, and some time to just sit and talk with other applicants.

Got an interview invite last week but never imagined myself having to turn down an interview before today.. good luck to whoever gets my spot.

Has anyone who interviewed 10/19 heard back yet?? They said 2-3 weeks but I haven't heard back yet and was wondering if anyone else had..

when i interviewed there on the 26th, they told me it takes 4 weeks for decisions to be made.

Can someone post some hotel recommendations? I'm there on 12/6/10. Thanks! 🙂

I stayed in one of the Drury hotels (it was the one by the Arch). It was nice, my room even had a view of the arch! It was close to the campus as well.

If you'd be up for it, I really recommend staying with a med student. My friends love to host (and will often bring their interviewees to class with them if the student has an afternoon interview and wants to tag along), and I had an awesome experience when I stayed with a med student during my app cycle. If you're really set on staying in a hotel though, stick to nice downtown ones or ones in the Central West End.

Hey everyone. I'm currently an MS1. I was a late spring interview and got a straight acceptance. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Damn, I interviewed on 10/5 and I still haven't heard back!!! Does any one know what is up with that?! Congratulations on your guys' acceptances though! SLU is a really good school!

I interviewed on 10/5 too, but it looks like from above that people got accepted from that day as early as last week. That makes me think that they just keep you in the pile until they are ready to accept you. Since it's still so early, I'd say you have a great shot! Good luck!

Yeah, hopefully they are just waiting to accept me ha ha. This waiting is torture though. Do you think they might still send out acceptances later in the day as well, or do you think they just do it all at once?

I interviewed 9/21 and just got my acceptance letter today when they told me to expect it around 10/15, so it might take a while. Good luck!!

Also interviewed 10/26 and accepted today! 33+/3.6+ OOS.

Good ECs... Just saying that because there's hope for everyone out there with less than excellent scores and good resumes! 🙂

it ends after your interview if it's in the afternoon and ends after the lunch/financial talk if you interview in the morning

Come on SLU!!! Anyone else complete around 10/26 waiting on an interview? For those of you who have interviewed, how long was the turnaround between complete status and interview invite?!

Yep! Submitted my 2ndary a handful of days before that date.

Did anyone get any more info from them or did you have to call/email to verify they had all of your materials? Like my login had said I was complete when I submitted my secondary, but I didn't get my last letter assigned in AMCAS until a couple days after submitting.

I submitted on Sep 6 evening and got an interview invite on Sep 14. It seems pretty variable, or maybe it's heavily based on your personal statement. Ugh, it'll be 4 weeks after my interview on Tuesday, and this waiting is killing me.

25? 😕 Did you have a lot of extra curricular activities??

accepted through the direct medscholar program on 10/27!

from what i've heard, other direct program students were also notified on the same day. this doesn't apply to those who have not yet finished their AMCAS.

First time posting! Hello everyone! Here's hoping for some IS love. 😍 I'm praying for good news soon, or else this might be the most stressful winter break ever. :bang:

Complete: 10/12
Interview Invite: 10/21
Interview: 11/2 (let's hope, 0, 1, and 2 are my lucky numbers!)

3.41 cGPA, 3.69 sGPA, 34Q

Complete 11/4. Invite 11/29. OOS GPA: 3.9, MCAT 31Q (ugh)

Genuinely hoping that my interview turns out to be the "conversational" kind. Has anyone interviewed with Dr. Shoemaker?

Rest assured your interview will be conversational (if not, I'll be shocked). Dr. Shoemaker loves to talk (I didn't interview with him, but he's one of the course directors for metabolism); so, I have a feeling you won't be expected to talk all that much.

Oh, and OOS really doesn't matter for anything, and 31 MCAT isn't bad considering mine was a point lower and I know of several of my classmates who were accepted with lower. It's more about who you are as a person, your motivations, and what you've taken away from your life experiences. One of the main things they look for is whether they would want you for a surgeon/treating their child/taking care of their parents/etc.

He is very nice. You get to go to the Research Center which isn't part of the tour. He went through my ECs and then asked me if I had questions.

Also had him, thought he was great, very conversational and will really give you an accurate representation of the school. I'm also OOS and was accepted a week or two later.

Yup. He did ask one slightly unusual question, which I liked because it gave me a chance to show I can think on my feet and not just spit back rehearsed answers. Otherwise it was very conversational and he allowed me to give a full explanation of my activities.

I just got the e-mail this morning! I interviewed on 11/16 with Dr. Willmore and had a wonderful time in St. Louis. Good luck to all of you! :luck:

do they give post-interview rejections right away too or do they wait until the end of the cycle give them all out? doesn't seem like anyone got rejected yet

anyone else hear back this week post-interview? seems like fewer people got notified this week than the last coouple weeks.

Interviewed mid November, accepted this week. IS, 36Q, 3.9

I have appreciated everyone who takes the time to post progress reports as it has helped me deal with the stress.
Hope this post helps you. Good luck and have a blessed Christmas.

Good luck to anyone else there tomorrow!!

Yes I did. Lots of leadership, studied abroad several times, varsity athlete, research, shadowing, and intern experience. I almost didn't apply this year bc of my mcat but I've been accepted to SLU and MU-Columbia so it's nice to know that the committees take some time to look at who you are outside of strict academics.

Congrats on all the interviews guys!

Has anyone been complete few months but hasn't heard anything?

Hey guys,

I interviewed at SLU on October 5th. My interviewer said I would hear back in about 4 weeks. 4 weeks went by and I e-mailed admissions, they said it can take 6-8 weeks for me to hear back. This is the 9th week, pushing 10 and I still haven't heard back.

Does anyone know what the deal is? Should I e-mail them again just to see if there was a glitch and I didn't receive my acceptance/rejection e-mail?

That is weird, even if you didn't get the email the acceptance packet would come in the mail a week or two later. I interviewed near the end of October and heard back within 2 weeks, so either they lost your app or you interviewed with someone who has missed all the recent committee meetings. Good luck and hope you hear back soon! I'd give them a call and say you called 5 weeks ago, just checking in on the status.

Hey guys, first day posting on the SDN forums. I'm a medical school re-applicant, but this is my first year applying to Saint Louis.

Received my interview invite on 11/11, completed my application a few weeks prior(don't remember the exact date), and am interviewing next Tuesday (12/14).

35o Mcat
3.745 cGPA
3.86 Science GPA

This is the first school I've interviewed at that has given me the name of my interviewer ahead of time. From what I've read it seems that the interviews here are mostly conversational, but I have seen a few negative reviews (I assume from applicants who just had a bad day). Has anyone this year interviewed with Dr. William Perman? Hopefully I don't need any kind of forewarning, but any info would be great!

Best of luck to everyone else applying!

Hi,

I am a little concerned because I submitted my secondary and payment back at the very beginning of July, and I haven't heard anything from the admissions office at SLU...No interview or correspondence of any type.

I'm OOS, 33Q, 3.96 gpa. Is anyone else in a similar situation? And does anyone know when their interview season is over?

I know there have been other acceptances with 33 mcat, but if I were you I wouldn't get my hopes too high with St. Louis.

huh??? Are you telling me SLU would consider that too low??? With a close to 4.0 at that that this person has.

lol my apologies. I thought this was the thread for Washington University in St. Louis 🙂

phew makes mroe sense now.

yeah at WashU it would be different. No doubt biggest number ****** in the country, even worse so then HMS or Hopkins in this respect. lol.

lol I liked the word "******"

Accepted!😍😍

Congrats but, seeing that... I interviewed more than a month before you and I still haven't heard... It's not worrying in the sense that it's a bad sign(I've read on here of people who've waited 7,8, and 9 weeks to my slightly over six), I just really really really would like to know where I stand. This waiting is killing me 😀. OH well, I hope they don't hate me for calling once a week just to make sure my email isn't on the fritz.

I interviewed October 5th and I haven't heard anything back yet! I am getting kind of worried. If I don't hear back by next week, I'm going to e-mail them again.
