Interview day was amazing yesterday! I'm not really expecting to get in at all since my fellow interviewees were sooo qualified

How many interviewees were there yesterday?

Nine and I know because they put up this cute little sign with everyone's name on it that will be interviewed that day

In the II email, there is no info on student host. Did you email the office of admissions to request a student host? Thanks!
Just FYI they also have student hosts. I stayed with one and it was a great experience...you get to see what their dorms look like!

Yeah you have to email the office of admissions to request a student host.

Has anyone had any success after sending an "in the area" email? I will be in NY during January and see the option is available for some of you currently receiving invites.

I sent Cornell an "in the area" email when I had an interview with another NYC school, and they totally hooked me up 🙂

They didn't say anything about it. I'm sure if they need them they'll ask for them, but this is probably a case by case thing if at all.

is this school receptive to updates post-interview? i interviewed really early, and since decisions come out in march, i thought it might be appropriate to send an update during the interim, any suggestions?

The application site says that they accept updates. I sent one pre-interview, and then another post-interview, and both were added to my file.

I think last year they accepted a handful of applicants around this time. hopefully they do the same this year.

"The class is selected in mid-March and all decisions are emailed then"

My hunch is that nobody will hear this month based on the post-interview status above (log into the status page to see this). Maybe they're sending the likely letters to select people (like the one I posted about a while ago) in place of early acceptance offers? Just speculating..good luck Ichiban (and everybody else!)!! 😍😍
Thanks Wangers! (And congrats on UCSF!)
Maybe it is just wishful thinking on my part.

II, complete 09/19. So stoked! Sent an ITA/Letter of Interest/ Update a few days ago.

Interview invitation just now! Got the complete email July 30th.

Whaaa!? Stop. Please stop giving me false hope that schools I applied to back in July could still hand out interview invites.

Haha, just kidding! Congratulations, and uh, you should go to UNC. 🙂

II today! complete early august and dodged the million waves of rejection emails!

II today, sent an in the area email like two days ago sayin' I was going to be at Columbia P+S in February 4th, but all of the potential interview days that they offer are earlier in January.

Complete mid October.

someone should call Cornell and find out if they're going to give out an December acceptances 🙂

Thanks for the info! I have contacted them but I might have to wait after the holidays to see if they can help me out.

Thank you!

I think on their website they say they don't do rolling admissions. All acceptances are decided in March.

Unless I misunderstand what you're saying.

EDIT: In reply to med144

The real question is if they said that last year and previous years bc they have been accepting a small handful in mid/ late December.

On my interview day they said they would send out a few acceptances in January for highly-qualified applicants.

I heard the answer to this question from about three different people and they all said the same thing: we have to wait till March. I guess we'll find out next month though.

Just got an II! I was complete mid-August and sent a letter of interest in early Dec and my fall semester grades just a few days ago!

thanks! if you go back and check your confirmation email from when your application was complete, they have instructions for sending updates. they have an update email account and ask for a pdf attachment, so i just wrote up a short letter that i attached to the email listing the classes i took and grades received.

II today! complete late august.

For those that also received II today/recently, did you have any trouble sending in the passport photo? What e-mail account did you send it to?

I sent one to the general admissions e-mail and just got a notification saying the message couldn't be delivered. Anyone else have that problem?

just got the same notification that it couldnt be delivered. i ended up just sending another copy to wog2001. earlier posts on this thread said that she sends a confirmation for the photo anyways so i think that's the way to go!

Would you mind posting that email? I am complete but I never received the complete email with the email address for updates.

Thanks and congrats.

Sure thing! Here is the info for sending updates --
You may send us occasional, substantive application updates if appropriate. Please send any such updates to [email protected], attaching your update as a Word or PDF file with the file name in the following format: lastname_firstname_AAMCID_ date. You will receive a confirmation email. Please do not include other queries or information in the email; questions should be directed to our main email address.

Awesome, thanks!

rejected pre-interview today. complete in August. Wish they hadn't strung me along for so long.

Man, I've lasted through so many rounds of both interview invitations and rejections that I'm really not quite sure what to think at this point...

same. submitted in late july and complete then too. even submitted an update/interest letter. still no reject or invite..and i work as a volunteer lab assistant at weill..

for those of you that just got II, can you share what dates are still left? still holding onto that sliver of hope for an interview... thanks in advance and congrats on the II!

also: does anyone know how many applicants they've rejected pre-interview? i.e. if i still haven't gotten the axe, is there still a good chance for II? or is there just going to be a mass rejection soon?

Hi folks,

Does anyone know how long it takes to get from Penn Station to WCMC's admissions office by taxi and by subway train?

Thanks,
MDPhDJourney

Hi! I had this same question a few pages ago and got very helpful answers as to which subways to take. I can't speak for using taxi but via subway it was less than 35 minutes. Hopstop.com or the hopstop app is very useful for this.

Good luck!!!
