How long did it take for you guys to receive the complete email? It seems like its taking forever ..

Does RFU accept update letters? Has anyone tried sending one?

Like most other schools, RFU accepts update letters only after you have interviewed or have been selected to interview.

how much cash should I bring for tolls?

Le sigh

Depends, are you driving to and from O'Hare? More details needed.

Oh yeah, I think you can get a one-day iPass fairly cheap if you rent a car from the airport. I did that in Miami. You could also probably do it online if you're driving from a border state.

to/from midway 🙂

Well further away but no tolls for you. I assume you will take 55 from midway into downtown and then transfer to 90/94 stay on 94 when 90/94 split and then take/continue on 41 north when 94 curves west. From 41 you should take a left (east) on Buckley followed by a right (south) on Green Bay road. The school will then be right there on your left just past the naval base.

Sorry if this is too much info but if you take these directions (which I would recommend) then there will be no tolls!

complete 8/17 and just got the primary screen email today. not sure what took them so long...

Small pooled. Complete 8/24, entered primary screening 8/27.

Did you guys receive an email saying you were small pooled? Or is there a website to check my status that I am not aware of?

Ok, so my application entered screening today (10/9).....whats my wait-time looking like before I hear anything else from them? I'm assuming my next step would be small pooled? (whatever that means!)

anyone interviewing the 15th wanna share a cab, car (from ohare) or hotel? haha i get so lonely 🙁

Complete 8/24, entered primary screening 8/27, small pooled 10/9.

does this school actually send out a "application is complete" email?

There seems to be a bit of a "lull" right now in terms of RF giving out II's. (at least on SDN anyways)

Hopefully they'll send out some more soon!

A lot of schools seem to be at a pause right now. I believe they are busy making decisions on the Sept. interviews and then after Oct. 15th they'll probably go back into their pool of candidates to decide who to bring in next for Nov/Dec. At least that's what I'm hoping for some of my schools :xf:

What's the time frame between complete email to ii/rejection.

II this morning. I need some advice though. How often does CMS review their applicants? There is about a 10 day difference from the first day they offered, and the day that I can interview. I have exams on the rest of the days that they offered, and I am trying to decide if I should reschedule my exams/talk to the professors or just take the later interview date. The first date is November 7th, and the day that I can go is the 19th. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't think a 12-day difference in November will matter. Just my opinion though.

II this morning. 4.0, 33 O, OOS, small pooled 10/2.

Late small pool. They must really love your application! Congrats on the awesome GPA/MCAT score.

I've been small pooled since Sept 18th here.....

Need some love!! 🙁

Primary Screening: 8/24
Small Pooled: 10/2
Interview Invite: 10/11

Hey, guys. Current student here. I know you all have questions about the school, so ask away if you need to and I'll try to keep up with this thread periodically. I don't have information about interviews, so I'll probably just ignore you if you ask about those (this whole process is a crapshoot), but I'll be extremely candid.

Can you tell us a little more about the area? What's the best way to get to RFU from Chicago OHare airport? Any other advice for someone who's never been to Illinois before? Thanks.

Thanks for offering your help! How would you describe the social atmosphere at RFU? Do you get much opportunity to spend time in the city or do most people stick to the area right around campus?

Can anyone comment on how cold it is over in Chicago right now (I have an interview in about 2 weeks)? I'm coming from the west coast so not sure if I should go out and buy a coat to wear on top of my suit...thanks!

It's been chilly recently (although not really today). In general, Chicago weather can change dramatically from day to day so I wouldn't draw conclusions about 2 weeks in advance, but in this case I would say definitely get a jacket because chances are it will be cold.

Has anyone submitted their primary app recently?? OOS looking to apply, but afraid it might be too late. 3.6 GPA/34R MCAT, undergrad research (with 3 pubs), lots of volunteering and clinical/non-clinical experience. Any help would be appreciated!!
