sorry to hear that. do you have any acceptances?

So, does that mean that they've accepted all for now? does that mean that everyone else will either be rejected or WL'd?

What would give you that idea? Haven't people been getting waitlisted all cycle? I'm pretty sure that everyone that interviews at SLU has the opportunity to be outright accepted.

Also alternate listed. SLU does not reject post interview so those on the list amount to the hundreds. 👎

12/4 interview as well?

I hope at least some of you got some acceptances! This thread is starting to get depressing 😛

I'm not sure what you mean. I wasn't saying that people who interview at SLU can't be outright accepted. I was accepted to SLU. I wasn't ever on a WL.

I was just wondering if they've interviewed all that they're going to do, and they've accepted enough to meet their initial need, and they're now making their WL in case they get more declinations than anticipated.

On a completely unrelated note - boy is it hot in STL!! Haha, so bizarre!

MedPR reply:
This. Talked to a SLU adcom member today and they said all interviewees cam be accepted outright regardless of interview time. In other words, SLU does not interview for waitlist spots.

That makes sense. They're using their regular interview list to determine acceptances and to determine their WL.

Anyone know what the chances are of getting one of the 10k scholarships? Like, how many are given out, or what the general requirements are? I interviewed at Mizzou recently, and while I love SLU, the price is the only thing keeping me from 100% committing.

Dunno but you'll find out before you have to commit either way.

Yes, from what I recall, that has been the usual case with the last 1/3 of interviews. Check old threads, but people are pretty much interviewing for a waitlist spot at this point. The good news is that there tends to be decent movement -- but you have to wait until May 15th+.

This.

What's the most recent interview date to hear back?

A lot of people from the first week of December heard back recently. So next week should be mid-December interviews, with some late Novembers and early Januarys thrown in there.

Not sure of the chances, but to be honest, you only have a shot if your parents are poor. However, you have a great shot at getting the $5k scholarship at least. About 75% of students get some form of scholarship, with 5k being the minimum amount. Once you get the scholarship, you're guaranteed to receive it every year after that. Lastly, it's possible to get the scholarship after you matriculate - e.g. second semester of M1.

Thanks! I thought that was probably the case.

Hope I'm not beating a dead horse, but I am confused about the whole "everyone else is either getting rejected or wait listed" thing. Are you saying that anyone that hears back at this point or anyone who gets an interview invite? For instance, I interviewed on January 8th and after reading all this I'm wondering if I'm pretty much set up for rejection or WL? Can someone that knows clear all this up? 😕

While I'm not certain, I'm pretty sure you can still get accepted. Though as with all non rolling admissions,it probably would have been easier to get accepted ooff the bat if you interviewed earlier. I haven't seen anyone post how full the class is yet.

It's likely that anyone who interviews during the last 1/3 or so of the season is interviewing for a waitlist spot. So a majority of the decisions that come back these next few weeks will be waitlists. SLU doesn't reject immediately post-interview and most/all of the pre-May 15th acceptances have gone out...which, for the most part, only leaves waitlist spots left. But like I said before, the waitlist typically has good movement.

Can someone remind me how tests are done at SLU? As far as how often, what format, etc. I'm starting to forget and confuse schools. I knew I should've taken notes.

Accepted, interviewed Dec first week!!!

Congrats! Did you just find out today? I'm not sure, but you may be the first Dec interviewee that's posted an acceptance.

Has there been any other Monday acceptances in previous weeks/months?

Hi everyone...i'm going to be interviewing on feb 19 with Dr. Heather Hall and i haven't seen anything mentioned about her anywhere so would it be possible for someone to please provide me with some info on her? i would really appreciate the help....thanks in advance and good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back 🙂

Are you sure? If that is true, the waitlist must accumulate well over 500 people by the end of the cycle, considering they interview about 1000 people for 175 spots.

Nobody gets outright rejected post interview.

Depends on the course.

Generally once every three weeks, generally all MC, all pass/fail.

I don't know anything about her, but sending good :luck: wishes!

When did you receive your interview invite?

Are you male or female? (makes me wonder if SLU is biasing its later interviews towards one gender to help balance the class? One of my interviews at another school consisted of nearly all female applicants. )

i also received an acceptance email yesterday!! interviewed on 12/4. it seemed like an eternity waiting to hear back, but the wait was so worth it. good luck to everyone else!

Are the MCQs USMLE-style vignettes?

Sometimes but not always.

You can tell some professors put in the effort to make the questions more clinical based but often it's just a normal-ass mc

I remember someone saying at SLU that their previously admitted class was overwhelmingly male, and they were trying to balance it out early. Not sure how I feel now getting an acceptance as a female... but I'll take it! 😀

So any other second week of December interviews here hoping this is our week?

I'm pretty sure a couple 12/10'ers or 12/11'ers were lurking. Best of luck, guys! If decisions from the first week just came out I would expect another week wait though. 😳

Haha thanks. Yea I interviewed on 12/10 and holy hell this wait is killing me. I'm hoping for this week but I agree next week seems more likely

i submitted my secondary app during the end of October but I have not heard back from the university yet 🙁 and now it seems like most of the ppl have been interviewed/accepted!

good time to send in a letter of interest or is it too late?

It certainly can't hurt. SLU is known to enjoy an good love letter.

Thanks for the luck 🙂 ....i received my invite second week of jan and i'm female.....i'll let you know what the gender ratio is at the interview...it would be interesting if SLU is leaning towards one gender more than the other.....hopefully it works out in my favour :xf:

Does slu have free parking, for interviewees?

When you interview, yes. If you look on your interview tab there is an information section (or something along those lines) and it tells you the garage to park in. You have to ask for validation from the admissions office, but it ends up being free. It's about a block or so through campus from the admissions building.

I'm guessing students pay for parking?

I dont think so. The host I stayed with just swiped his ID care to get in and out of the parking garage

You have to pay to use the garage. Your ID gets you in/out. It costs like $220 a semester or something. There is also nearby street parking for free.

Anybody getting any news today? Seems like things have slid to Mondays lately, but then again you never know.

Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear! (including me) 🙂
