Around 2 weeks. Yeah, the short notice sucks, but flights are not too expensive at that point.
2 weeks? Jeez. I hope my job will let me take off with such short notice

Thanks everyone for the replies.

If I submit my application in October/November, as an OOS is that too late? I ran out of $$ for applications, credit card is maxed, so I'm waiting on a financial aid check so I can add to AMCAS and pay the secondary fee.
Stats:
OOS
26 y/o, non-URM male
3.3 c/sGPA
30 MCAT
3.85 grad GPA
2 years full time research (neuro)
1 year graduate research (stem cells)
~350 hours clinical volunteering
~50 hours non-clinical volunteering
Shadowed 4 doctors
No significant ties to Indiana
9/4 interview finished.
Had a blast, although I realized I could have answered the ethical questions so much better, but I hope I made a good positive impression. Interview was short (30 min) instead of 45 min so hopefully it is not a big deal.
Surprisingly so many OOS people(I met only 2 IS out of 50+) interviewed in the morning.
Same here. I met people from Arizona, New York (that kid had 8 IIs), Arizona, New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, California, New Mexico, and Michigan. I don't think I met two ppl from the same state. So much diversity.
Nice interviewing day. The interviewers I had were very nice, it is around 30 minutes and you get to talk to two doctors about yourself and your experiences. The ethics questions were not loaded and were very clear. They just want to see if you are a well adjusted person in these interviews so don't worry, and don't study for these interviews like a maniac.
it seems like 9/4 was like the OOS day or something. I interviewed at a smaller campus and everybody was OOS.
my interview was interesting though. i was asked like 2 questions about my application and the rest was all about ethics and modern issues in medicine. anybody else have a similar experience?
Has anyone that received an II around 8/16 had any further communication from them (e.g. date of interview)?
Also, I mailed in my forms on 8/17 and still none have been marked received. My letters of rec don't seem to have been received either.

Can you give me an example about what modern issues were brought up?
obamacare, language and cultural/religious barriers in medicine (the easiest example of this would be that jehova's witness situation) but there were other examples i don't want to discuss to try to preserve some anonymity
what's the general protocol post-interview for med schools?
do you send like a thank you letter or anything? or updates?
Anyone else interviewing on October 2?? I just got the e-mail this morning. Pretty excited.
Thank you e-mail to interviewers. But I am not sure whether IU is receptive towards updates.
really? did you send one? i thought they mail all of the applications to the committee that meets once a month so does it really matter?
Hi guys. Startin to freak out a little here. IU received my application Aug 16th and I've yet to get any word on secondaries/II. Anyone else who got their apps received round that time hear anything? Thanks!
None of my forms have been marked either.
I received an e-mail saying they can't interview me at Indianapolis and will interview me at a regional campus instead.... this is frustrating. I'm flying out from California, and the other campuses seem to be 1-2 hours out from Indy.
Don't know if anyone else answered this, but if it's at Gary then that's only an hour away from Chicago, so you could fly there and drive down, if possible. It sucks, but there are many flights to Chicago from SFO and LAX if that's where you live. I asked to be interviewed there but I was informed today I'll be interviewing 10/9 at Indianapolis.

I was verified on 7/31
received 'secondary' (ask for payment) on 8/1
payment sent 8/1
I received II on 8/23
sent my campus preference on 8/25
received interview preference confirmation/schedule on 9/10 for an interview on 10/9 in indianapolis.
I would not stress about not hearing back yet. It is a long process. However, I am not one to talk as I seem to stress myself out way to much over things such as this.
"Under peaceful conditions a war-like man sets upon himself"-Friedrich Nietzsche

I don't know if I just don't remember correctly but I don't think they have you pay at all prior to interview invite.
Once my primary was verified, I got an email from IU saying they received my app. Then I got an II a few weeks later. Then about three weeks after that I got my date.
Just got an II from Indy!! 🙂 My second interview for this cycle!!
Did those of you who interviewed submit your photo via mail or email?

Hi All,
I just joined SDN. I'm a first year and I am willing to help out by answering any questions. I may have already met some of you on interview day. I was part of the student panel. I'm also OOS, and I love IUSM so far 😀
