Is the 100 deposit refundable or not?
On one of the pages it says that the 100 dollars is refundable, but on the bottom of the same page it says that it is non-refundable...

Flat out rejected post interview. LizzyM 70-71. I'm shocked. Not cause I think I'm so awesome, just thought I was a good fit for the school and that my interviewers liked me. I wish I could get feedback🙁 interviewed 10/8

+1 I'm thinking of calling or emailing. Worst case scenario, they can't tell us anything.

This really stings though. Did I really interview that bad?
Yea, stings bad. I really liked this school. I called earlier, no feedback 🙁

Hi, I'm not sure what year you are in, but what is the quality of the clinical rotations? Do you feel as if the physicians are decent teachers? Any other thoughts about them?

My clinical rotations have been fantastic thus far. I love the quality of the teaching on rotations, and we rotate at many different hospitals, so you get a chance to see multiple different practice types and patient populations. Rotating at Cook County hospital has been a special treat for me as well because of my interest in emergency medicine, and the teaching there has been absolutely phenomenal thus far.

I was complete here way back in July and just got an email that states I completed the primary screening and I'm being reviewed by the committee. Is this standard or not so much? (The fact that I've been complete for so long) Either way, I'm really excited to be moving on to any next phase! Is making it past the primary screening great news or do most applicants get this?

Thanks! And congrats to everyone w/ acceptances and IIs!

Sorry to hear that 🙁 maybe it's one of the schools that rank you pre-interview and the interview can only move you up or down? This would mean that you didn't necessarily interview badly, just not well enough to put you much higher on the list...? Either way, good luck with the rest of the cycle!

I was complete in early August, and I finally got the primary screening complete email too. Ignore everything accept II. Those are the only things that matter (before the interview obviously).

This might be a stupid question, but for those of you who paid the deposit, what did you guys put for the "Program Year"? Are we supposed to put "2015" since we are starting next August, or "2019" since we are Class of 2019? Thanks!

Yes I found this confusing as well.... I guess it's refundable only if you withdraw before May 15th? Maybe I'll call tomorrow and find out.

I think that there must be some sort of glitch going around for the acceptance deposits. They sent another email this morning, but it is the same link as before.
You will find the deposit page after the Declaration of Intent and Technical Standards. So basically you have to resubmit those two.

Sorry this is kind of late, but:

Complete 7/28
Primary Screening Complete 10/1
II 10/14
Interview scheduled for 11/12

For those complete in July or August, don't lose hope! It took a long time for me to hear, and it was good news so keep positive!

Did they send you an email to confirm that you're primary screening was complete?
Is there no way to check your status online?
...I've been waiting and waiting.....

The only communication that matters from the school is an interview invitation. Please ignore all other correspondence.

I put 2019. Hopefully they don't rescind my acceptance over this

I called today and the lady I spoke with told me to put 2019! So that's what I put!

Yeah I got this Primary Screening Complete email on 10/1:

Dear Applicant:

At this time, your application to the Chicago Medical School is under consideration with the Admissions Committee. We thank you for your patience throughout this process.

The Chicago Medical School conducts interviews from September- April, with invitations being sent out via email. Please note we cannot accept any additional information or materials for your file, unless it concerns an Institutional Action, Felony, Misdemeanor or Military Discharge. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Wait, really? I only see the refundable part. 😵

So I understand that schools are backed up with applications, but I got the email saying they would update me in 4-6 weeks, and that was 12 weeks ago. Should I be worried?

Please ignore all correspondence from the school except interview invitations. No other communication matters, and the school does not allow pre-interview updates, so there's nothing you can do.

Interesting! I hope it's okay that I put 2015 on the deposit lol. Excited for 2nd look day!!!! 🙂

Good morning! Anyone know if January interview dates are out yet? I'm trying to group my interviews together, and haven't heard back and emailed CMS a few times in last weeks.

Have you received an interview invitation? CMS doesn't accept pre interview updates or accommodate in the area emails unless you've already received an interview.

Yes-I received an interview last month, and at that point there were November/December dates open. I am hoping for January because of the fact that I live abroad. I realize it's not ideal with rolling admissions.

II! They only had December dates open, but the email said they would be opening up more for Jan soon.

Submitted early July, complete 8/11, Primary Screening complete email last week! LM 64-67, OOS

II today also! very similar timeline as the 3 posts above me, OOS, LM 70+
so excited!

II as well! Yay! So very excited.

I saw above someone speculated a 25% accept/50% waitlist/25% reject post-interview... would anyone know if this is true/can be confirmed? I've heard of other schools having a pretty high accept percentage post interview, somewhere between 40-50%.

Thanks!

Take a look at MSAR for exact numbers. I will say for those interviewing later in the year that our school has spots left over and does not interview for the waitlist, but that's all I know about our school's acceptance policy.

I got primary screening complete e-mail in mid August and heard nothing from them since. Should I call or wait?
Is anyone in my shoes?

II for December. Complete early-mid August. LizzyM 69-71. IS.

Hey guys, what time was your email sent? I received an II 11/3 as well at 10:17am in which it says there were November and December dates. But stupid me waited till the evening to confirm and there were only 12/10 and 12/15 left.

I only had 12/1, 12/10, and 12/15 also, and that was about 15 mins after the email was sent. I received it around the tie you did.

I guess some of us will be seeing each other in December! :highfive:

For anyone that withdrew their application, did you just e-mail the Admissions Office and remove your interview date from the scheduler or will removing your spot on the scheduler just suffice?

I am actually wondering about this myself. I called but nobody answered, so I am wondering if it's alright to withdraw via e-mail.

Withdrawal from interview is good enough because your sent a confirmation telling you you have been removed from the app process

I actually haven't received that e-mail yet. I only received an automated response about my e-mail being reviewed within 3 business days. I'll let you guys know what happens in case anyone has further questions later on.
