The interview portion is MMI. We all signed a non-disclosure agreement so we can't discuss specifics but it was a very typical MMI. You get a tour of the campus and get to speak with current students. They'll email you a week before your interview outlining specifics. Good luck!

You're split into 3 groups, so your schedule will vary depending on which group you get placed in. But your whole day consists of the interview, school tour, Q&A sessions, and lunch.

The interview itself was really fun! I personally enjoy MMIs better than Traditional interviews so I might be a little bias. There are 8 stations with one interviewer per station. You have 6.5 minutes per station including 1.5 minute to read the prompt and transition. They'll tell you all of this again at the beginning of your interview day. So for Rosalind Franklin, they actually allow you to take notes while reading the prompts. This kind of threw me off because all of my previous MMIs didn't allow note-taking. So I didn't bother to bring a small note pad to write on (I really wish I did). So my advice to you is to bring something to write on. If you forget, don't panic! I ended up writing on the back of some flyer/information paper they gave us in our interview folders.

Hope this helps and goodluck!

Hey! I'll echo the other poster and say that while the MMI wasn't exactly like other ones, it was still very enjoyable! Felt like I had less time to think before each scenario, but it's made up for with getting to pin down your thoughts so that you don't forget them before going in.

Good luck!

You call or email?

Neither. I used the "Withdraw" option in the interview scheduler yesterday and immediately received an automated email saying I withdrew my application. I received an official email this morning from RFUMS.

I actually haven't received that e-mail yet. I only received an automated response about my e-mail being reviewed within 3 business days. I'll let you guys know what happens in case anyone has further questions later on.
You'll ge it and a survey in like 3 days.

Hi!!! This is super helpful, thank you! Quick question. This is my first MMI. Do they want you to talk about the question for the full 5-6 min or do they want you to be concise and talk for 2-3 minutes, and then they'll ask you like follow up/probing questions? Thanks much!

Hi guys, I was just wondering when they say the interview is from 1-4:30pm, do we leave on time? Bc my flight is at 5:49pm. Are we allowed to leave maybe even a little earlier?

I ran into this problem with a flight that left at 6:30. It's not enough time. Our interviews ran a tad late and then they have a social afterwards. I left right at 4:30 and promptly ran into rush hour traffic. Fortunately I have been to chicago enough times that I didn't need to rely on my GPS but if your flight is at 5:49 you won't have enough time to leave at 4:30 and get to the airport and through security. Don't plan on leaving early. They give you sessions for your interview and I was in the last session so I was done with formal interviews at 4. Then they had the social and I wished I had stayed for the full thing but I couldn't have been that bad cause I was accepted here! I would change that flight to at least 730 to be on the safe side. Which airport are you leaving from? O'Hare?

Also ironically, we had torrential rainstorms during my interview and the power flashed out once, and of course when I did make it to the airport, frantically returned my rental car, and ran through the airport in my suit and heels (got to go through TSA precheck though!) I get to the gate to find out that my flight was completely canceled!

Anyhow best of luck! I highly recommend making that flight later. I'd be comfortable with an 8 pm flight personally. I felt rushed at the social and I didn't want to be.

I don't think you need worry about that. When I was interviewing, I just talked until I was done making my point regardless of the time it took me to do so.

Plus, the five minutes goes very quick and they will ask you additional questions if you finish sooner. No worries.

Thank you so much! Yea, I'm leaving at O'Hare. I just thought that I could make it since most schools I have interviewed at ended earlier than the stated time. One question, how long does the social thing last? Is it from 4:30-whenever you want to leave? Bc if so, maybe a 8pm flight is still cutting close.

II just now! OOS LizzyM 72-75, submitted 7/29, completed 8/7. I can hardly believe it when I saw the email because I never got small pooled and thought they passed me over!
Interview dates are now into January. Interview scheduled for Jan. 7! Very excited!

Also received an interview invite today! So excited! Miraculously there was a spot open next week so I scooped it up ASAP. Otherwise dates were into January. This will be my first MMI.. Are there any sites online anyone recommends that have sample scenarios?

Edit: I never got small pooled either.

Any ideas on cheap hotels/commuting to CMS?

I'm not sure if you already saw this but a CMS recommended list of hotels can be found here: http://www.rosalindfranklin.edu/prospectivestudents/Interviewing.aspx

I stayed at the Residence Inn and they provide you with free shuttle service to and from the interview. The staff is extremely friendly.

Congrats on the II!

I interviewed the very first interview date they offered, so perhaps now it ends on time. With their schedule I don't see it ending early at all. I don't think the social lasts too insanely long; it's nice chance to get to chat with the interviewers and faculty and other interviewees. You'd be able to make an 8 pm flight. The official schedule says social from 4-4:30. It wouldn't go past 5 or normal business hours and you'd be able to make it to ohare in plenty of time I think. You'd want to be at ohare by like, 6:30. Even with Rush hour it took maybe 40 minutes to get to the airport.

Is the social thing also available for morning interviewers?

Ok, thanks. Was the line at the TSA check long? I wonder how busy of an airport O'Hare is on a weekday.

I don't know for sure...I was afternoon and they split us into three different groups. Mine was the last group of MMI interviews of the day and immediately following my last session we had the social. I only saw the people that were in my group but I assumed they had a social for morning people as well.

O'Hare can get pretty crazy busy. I travel to Chicago quite often to visit family and it's random, really. I think they may have put me through pre-check since I was running through the airport in my suit and heels haha. Or at least I think that's why they directed me to pre-check! I never paid for the pre-check but that line is much shorter. The last few times I've gone through O'Hare this year has gone fairly quickly, but I'm always on Alaska Airlines which is less in demand than like, Delta haha. O'Hare is filled with business travelers and many other travelers every day of the week.

My experience is there is a lot of fluctuation in dates opening and closing for interviews--ie if you want something sooner just keep checking! Best of luck!

According to the interview scheduler, in order to even check available dates, I would have to give up my current spot?

Yes! That's true--and so it's a risk--but again, I have seen tons of fluctuation in what opens/close b/c I've had to move my dates around a bit b/c of my travel plans and other interviews.

those of you with II's who say you never got small pooled - does that mean you never got any email besides the complete email? I'm getting lost over all the different emails they send haha [inb4 @tantacles is always warning us not to pay attention to emails pre-II] but I just assumed I was basically rejected since I've gotten nothing since complete email in late August

Pretty much. I never got the small pool, only the complete. At the interview, I asked someone and they told me that they were changing things and that's what led to people getting different emails but same outcomes.

Confusing, but as stated, you're either under review, have interviewed, or rejected pretty much. Disregard all else.

You are not rejected until you receive an e-mail that says you are rejected. Historically, our school has interviewed until April, sending out invitations until at least mid-March. When I say ignore all e-mails that are not interview invitations, I mean it. It's not worth your time.

Any ladies interviewing on 12/10 want to share a hotel room and/or a ride back to O'Hare (if you're flying at that airport)? I'm a girl, btw!

Been complete since 7/7.. Should I start giving up on this school?

Rejected just now. Complete 8/7. OOS LizzyM 68. Good luck to all of those still in the running!

Just rejected. Complete 8/1.
cGPA: 3.61, sGPA: 3.55. MCAT: 35. Former army officer, lots of EC's. But Canadian. w/e.
