2014-2015 Rosalind Franklin University Application Thread

Anyone think there's hope to be pulled off the alternate list earlier in the process, such as February to April? Instead of May to August? Would go in a heartbeat but will be tough for my spouse to find a job if it's very last minute. Then again, even if I were accepted last minute I wouldn't be complaining. I just would want to know if it's unheard of to be off the waitlist earlier on.
I think they can pull whoever, whenever.

Hi all--interviewing there tomorrow. Just wanted to offer a ride again to anyone needing to get back to O'Hare after 1/21 am interview! PM me if needed.

Anybody know the latest CMS gives out IIs? I've been complete since Sept. Complete/reviewed e-mail a little after that and then nothing for the past few months. I'm wondering if there's still any glimmer or chance.

I have no idea about the latest they give out II's, but I can tell you I got an II last week (also complete in September) and they gave me 6 days to choose from spanning end of January to end of February, so they definitely had quite a few spots left still.

Previously, late March/early April. With MMIs, not sure. Until you receive a rejection e-mail, you are not rejected.

Congrats on the interview! Hmm, I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens in the upcoming few weeks!

Only post-interview.

I have an interview first week of Feb. Would it be better to send an update letter now? Or after attending the interview? Or does it even matter? It's just an update on my activities since August.

They only accept them POST interview. In other words, AFTER the interview.

I'm confused, the email I got after my interview stated this:
"Please note we cannot accept any additional information or materials for your file, unless it concerns an Institutional Action, Felony, Misdemeanor or Military Discharge."
So are we really allowed to send in LOI or updates?

Unfortunately, we can't send in anything (pre or post interview) unless it's those things specified above (institutional action, etc). I have emailed twice and called (I'm annoying) and gotten the same answer that no updates of any kind or any kind of letter of intent will be accepted. :/

bummer. Thanks for the info!

Does anyone know when the last round of interviews are? Has anyone not yet heard regarding an interview for an invitation?

Today marks my 12th week being complete and I haven't heard anything since that complete e-mail.

Fortunately, it seems like from previous cycles that RFUMS has a pretty long interview season and that interview invitations get extended through March. So keep your chin up, it ain't over yet! If you haven't heard anything yet, consider it a good thing still.

Just got a complete application email..but I thought I've completed since Oct ..what's that mean?!

I got an II invite a while ago from CMS and scheduled my interview mid-feb. i got accepted to a state school (SUNY upstate) in the meanwhile and was just wondering if it's worth going to an II here, since SUNY tuition is considerably lower. With all the travel time and expense etc is it worth it? I do like the fact that CMS 3rd and 4th year students will be doing rotations at chicago area hospitals, and as a person who grew up in an urban area this is a very attractive feature for me. would love to hear your thoughts on it. thanks!

congrats on your acceptance!
id say if you find those rotations to be an attractive feature of the school, definitely go for it and see what happens

If the school is worth it for you, come to an interview. I'll be honest and say that if it were me, I would always choose a school that cost less, especially since rotating at multiple hospitals in the Chicago area can be costly, but the clinical experience during the third and fourth year here is truly stellar. We rotate through a wide variety of hospitals in different settings, including private, county, and academic teaching hospitals, and I've loved the experience thus far.

Do we know if they review applications in order?

They do, but they don't necessarily give out interviews in order, and they may pluck out applications they think are stellar and review them early.

Also, some applications get a second look if the readers didn't feel they should be outright rejected.

Thank you.. so what advice would you suggest to those who haven't heard anything? Since no update letter allowed.

Did they send u an email saying you were getting screened? Some applicants had their apps complete in September but didn't get the email saying they were being screened until december

Received complete e-mail on 10/7, but still have not received screen e-mail. Anyone in a similar position?
