Anyone else on the alternate list? How many get in off that list? Do they meet every month?

I'm on the Alternate list -- would love to know if people get off earlier than later. But I hear most of the movement occurs after May 15th :-/.

I'll be withdrawing my application on Monday. I hope one of you receives my interview slot.

I have been on the Alternate list since early December... Doesn't seem like there's much movement till later on. They say it moves regularly but it doesnt seem so. This is also the first year they are using MMI, not sure if that has any impact but it might. I really want to go to this school and the fact that we can't send any updates irks me.

They're definitely interviewing more this year. I've heard maybe the 1000 mark. The MMI's are much more time efficient, plus it's the first year.

I saw this piece at Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School. Thought ppl of Rosalind Franklin might appreciate.

Where did you hear this. From the institution itself or elsewhere?

Interviewed 2/13 and just got placed on alternate list this morning. Nonetheless, I will be withdrawing my application. Good luck, ya'll!

Got rejected! Interviwewd 2/25. And I blame the cold weather lol🙁 Good luck!

Just got an interview invite for mid April. Does anyone know if at this point we are interviewing for a waitlist spots or are we interviewing for actual seats in the class?

Accepted from the BMS program today. I don't know as much as the more senior RFU students (@tantacles et al) in this thread, but I'll try to answer any questions about the school, area, or portions of the M1 curriculum that I've experienced.

Heading out there later this week for an interview on friday in the afternoon. If anyone needs a ride back to the airport (midway) let me know. I'll have a rental car and can help!

I completely bumbled through one without ever reaching a coherent answer, and in another the interviewer seemed to challenge everything I said and I left feeling like I totally blew it. The rest seemed to go pretty well, overall I felt pretty good, and I ended up getting accepted.

I'm sure it wasn't as bad as you think! Adcoms here always seem to say that interviewees never really have a good idea of how their interview went.
Hey honestly, your feeling does not have much to do with it. Most of the time MMI just wants to see if you can think a question through and arrive at the answer (whether right or wrong), not really if you reach a correct solution. This is the intended purpose of the MMI. Of course you can't say I want to murder people at the MMI, and those are obviously wrong answers. As long as they see you tinkering I think you are good. Does anyone know if they drop the highest and lowest station score like in the Canadian system?
Yup you guys were right! I ended up getting accepted! I felt so bad after the day but I guess my feelings were unwarranted!

So sad I won't be attending medical school with you. I was a huge fan of your work in Pawnee, and I'm sure you'll be a success wherever you attend!

lol nice one
i personally loved the show but hated leslie knope
i'm all about ron swanson

Those that have interviewed, does admissions send out another email before the actual interview with more details about the day, or is it just the automatic confirmation email from the scheduling site? Thanks in advance!

They will send another email with much more information (where to go, what the schedule will be, format of the MMI, etc) before your interview date

I think it was from when admissions came to speak with the BMS class (one of many times). I'm not certain on the exact number, but I do know they are interviewing more than historically.

I can also confirm this is true.

Would you be able to find out in any way specifically how much? Perhaps through people you know?

Can someone tell me how to join the FB group?
You will get an email from admissions with the link to join. Mine came exactly one week after the email confirming the receipt of my deposit.

Edit to add: Not sure if you have to pay the deposit before they'll send the facebook group email or if it was just a coincidence for me.

I'm pretty sure they want to know that you have some intention of attending before the allow you into the group.

Does anyone know how many people are on there already?
