2014-2015 Rosalind Franklin University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i think that's a question that can only be answered by individually asking everyone in the fb group...
Though if you have given your deposit, are you or aren't you committed to attending the school? I am not entirely sure how this works. Thanks in advance

Withdrawing today. I'm scheduled for an interview for Friday so if anyone wants it, a spot should be open 🙂

If you've put it in your deposit, it means that you may attend the school. At this point in the cycle, you may receive acceptances from other schools. If you withdraw from the waitlist before May 15th (has this date changed?), you get your deposit back.

It's April 30th this year. Last years group has over 350 people in the FB group so about 150 in the group went elsewhere

Ok I get it. Basically like a placeholder of sorts for those who may and may not attend given their circumstances.

Heading out there later this week for an interview on friday in the afternoon. If anyone needs a ride back to the airport (midway) let me know. I'll have a rental car and can help!

Same here, except for Fri morning. Man they must do two rounds of MMI's per day? Good luck!

Will also have a rental to return to O'hare. Happy to help, just pm me.

Withdrew my acceptance today as I have an in-state acceptance. Hope one of you on the waitlist gets it!

August 17th, but I believe there's a mandatory orientation for incoming M1s. If it was like last year, orientation would be 8/12th through 8/14th.
Thanks!! I was trying to find out about when we had to move in by; that helps!

I was watching some of the Match Day live stream for CMS and it sounded pretty impressive!! 3 at stanford and a ton in Cali and Chicago

Do you know when they will post the match list?

Does anyone know if we should have gotten more besides the acceptance letter and stuff about Accepted Students day? Like stuff about financial, health forms, living options, etc? I haven't seen or heard anything since my initial acceptance email

They gave me a check list of things like fasfa to fill out and a signature after completing an educational program about finances. I haven't heard anything since.

Hmm was it a part of your acceptance letter? Did they email or mail it? How long ago were you accepted?

The checklist should be in a separate e-mail (if its the same as last year). It came a few months after for me. I believe you can get started on Health Insurance through the school if you need that: http://www.rosalindfranklin.edu/prospectivestudents/StudentFinancialServices/insurance.aspx

In the summer, you'll be receiving information on requred immunizations and health history followed by more information for Orientation.

Yeah, the checklist was separate and it came like a month after my acceptance. Do you know when they start giving financial packages?

Anyone hear back from being on the alternate list?
I don't think we hear back until they are done interviewing at this point in the cycle, probably after April 30th people will see movement. Though I am sure one of the current students can chime in to answer this better.

That's a good point. I'd just like to know how many people are deferred and accepted towards the end of the cycle ... But it's probably difficult for us to receive that kind of data.

You could hear back at any time.

I have an interview here tomorrow morning. Any tips for success??

Eat a good breakfast, be professional, and ask whatever questions you want during the student panel. The students in the panel are not on the admissions committee and have no say in whether or not you're admitted in the slightest, so that's your time to ask those sensitive questions you wouldn't ask an admissions counselor.

I did not know that this school interviewed this late, but I got an interview invite yesterday. Since I have gotten an acceptance from another school, I will have to decline this interview. I hope this spot will go to someone that is deserving. Best of luck everyone.

Is anyone interviewing on April 15th and want to split a cab/car rental to/from O'Hare on the 14th/16th?

Finally broke their silence... looks like I (in the best case scenario) have been waitlisted to be waitlisted lol

Congrats to all those who got accepted here! Seems like a great school.

Good luck. How did you know you've been waitlisted to be waitlisted?

Received an interview invite today for either 4/10, 4/15 or 4/24 but am withdrawing so there will be one more open slot.

I withdrew my acceptance. Hopefully one of you lovely people will receive it.
