Interviewed on 11/21, got the waitlist email this am. Really disappointed, I loved my interview and tour at Stony Brook. One of my absolute favorites so far. Anyone know how much waitlist movement there is at this school? I'm kind of heartbroken. 🙁

Edit to add stats: 3.5x, 35, in-state.

I noticed you have pretty high stats. Did you have any luck with the other SUNYs too?

I also have high stats and an II from SB, but silence from all the other SUNYs, wondering what the deal is - maybe SB loves high numbers more.

Not sure about that, I have comparatively low stats and I applied to all the SUNYs. I only got an II from SB and haven't heard from the others.

Any chance you have a lot of research background? I do and I have heard they favor that.

I hope so.. I have an interview at buffalo around that time and would really like to be accepted here at Stony so I can give my interview spot to another applicant.

Edit: The acceptance package states that I need to complete a course in Cell Biology or Genetics prior to matriculation. I've heard many people mention Biochemistry as a prerequisite. Is the Cell Biology an entirely separate course or would Biochemistry fulfill that requirement? Thanks!

I would think those are two separate courses. Personally I have taken all 3 (cell, genetics, biochem) and they are definitely different. I think genetics and biochem are both requirements.
