If "clean" and "modern" are important attributes to you, you're gonna have a bad time in New Orleans.Holiday Inn for me. Clean, modern, and close to the University? Please and thank you.

That's true!! Sorry. Native New Orleanian here and just don't think of Tulane Med as downtown, on Poydras, right across from the Superrdome. With that said, the link I provided is even more advantageous - walkable. Apologies for any confusion.Tulane School of Medicine is downtown in the CBD (Central Business District). The undergrad campus is in Uptown, which is a bit away (by New Orleans standards).
I think that's a pretty unfair statement as a whole. Hyatt is right across the street from Med School, brand spanking new - within last 2.5 years. If "clean" and "modern" are important attributes to you, you're gonna have a bad time in New Orleans.

Check out airbnb.com. People rent out there extra rooms for a few nights all over new orleans and most are cheaper than hotels and you get to stay with a local which you could use for a crash course on our fair city.
You're arguing with someone who has the leader of al Qaeda as their profile picture... You do not need to defend yourself against someone like that.
Lol, the room I choose to sleep in does not have to reflect the city I choose to live in. Excuse me if I don't enjoy sleeping in filth. I would much prefer to sleep on the dirt in the forest (and do so often when I camp.)There are certainly more traditional style rooms that are clean available in the area, but they are also more expensive. With so many variables I prefer to just go with a known quantity in the Holdiay Inn and get my dose of culture through my adventures and not necessarily my bedroom. New Orleans, for obvious reasons, is an amazing city and cannot wait to spend some time there. If "clean" and "modern" are important attributes to you, you're gonna have a bad time in New Orleans.
Yes I sent them an email and they paired me that night.Hey all, my interview is next Friday and I still haven't heard about the student host (I submitted the form a week and a half/two weeks ago). Has anyone else heard back yet?
To clarify this was to [email protected] The admissions office said they don't manage the hosting.Thank you, just emailed them, hoping I can still be paired!
I received it the next day. If your status is "In progress," I would imagine you are good to go. Maybe it got sent to your spam?
Was there a long period between the time you all submitted your secondary and then got a complete email? I have the email that my secondary was received, the website says they have all my information and my status is In Progress, but I never got a complete email that was mentioned I would get when my application would be complete and under review. Been about 3 weeks, hopefully I'm just being anxious.
sorry :/ when were you complete?Reject a little while ago. Toodle-lee-doo, Tulane thread!
What day are you interviewing if you don't mind me askingThis is going to be a very expensive long weekend for an interview. I'm certainly not complaining though! (but my credit card is).

For a second I thought we got the same group again haha. I'm 95% sure we were in the same 9/5 Albany group and didn't realize it.Friday the 26th

It's ok... Just use I-10 as the dividing line. Tulane would be on the "Downtown" side. Don't screw that up interviewees, know your directions Downtown, Uptown, River and Lake and please don't call all of Canal, Treme and the Marigny the " Quarter". There will be a test on this later. That's true!! Sorry. Native New Orleanian here and just don't think of Tulane Med as downtown, on Poydras, right across from the Superrdome. Just interviewed! It is now my top choice. Absolutely an amazing place.
That may be a good thing. They may think you're competitive enough to keep in the applicant pool.I've been complete since 8/1 and haven't heard a word yet.....![]()
I will try to get it done by the end of the week. I will post when I have it done! Please tell us more about your day and impressions when you have a chance!
