2015-2016 Rosalind Franklin University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
In addition to financial aid appointments during the day, the Friday evening (5-7PM) reception will be about student life. You will hear from student leaders on campus about what they do. So come on Friday if you want to hear more about that.

If you're an accepted student and you haven't heard anything about this event at all, maybe try calling admissions?
"That's just, like, your opinion, man"

Can any current students talk about:
-the culture (both student body/faculty and admin)
-financial aid/scholarship opportunities you've come across

Thanks so much in advance!

How long has it taken everyone to get a decision once they've interviewed?

SUPER late notice, but would any 1/27 interviewees happen to be interested in splitting a Days Inn room for tomorrow night (1/26)? PM me!

For everyone who received the Interview Waitlist e-mail, did yours have "We look forward to being in communication shortly" at the end of the first paragraph? Curious..

Yes, and I received an interview fairly quickly.

+1 but I've been on the interview waitlist since 12/22.

anyone have an idea if the II waitlist is in a certain order? is it by when the waitlist was informed to you?

Ad Com said the II waitlist is NOT ranked, which seems to suggest offers are randomized. Just postulating...

Whether or not they extend offers from separate pools, based on the time frame candidates are placed on the waitlist, I cannot say. My guess is all applicants are tossed in together.

Hahaha. I know who you are. I interviewed today too 🙂

So if I received the complete email on 9/14 but have heard nothing since, should I call to check in? They had said in the email allow to allow 8-10 weeks but it has been a lot longer than that with no word.

Similar situation. I emailed them a few days ago and they said my application remains under consideration with the admissions committee. Each paragraph was in a different font so I think text was copied and pasted.

So it seems a lot of February dates are open. I have mine currently scheduled for the 1st week of March (since December). If I go to the portal to select a new time slot (are February ones still open), will I still be garuanteed an interview or is it possible for someone from the waitlists to fill the spots while I'm choosing (Since it requires you to drop your interview to scheudule a new one)? - In essence, as I'm rescheduling, does it notify those on the waitlist that my slot just opened up, giving them time to take that one?
No it won't notify the waitlist if you are simple rescheduling

You can technically lose your spot if there are lots of people in there at once. You give up your spot to check for others. But if there are lots of days open, much less of a risk.

I did the same thing and it worked out but I would suggest doing it at a late time (3am) when you think no one else will be on so no one can take your previous spot if all the feb end up being taken when you cancel yours..

Did anyone else in here interview January 8th? Should we expect to hear back more along the 6 week mark rather than the 4 week mark?

I interviewed on 1/8. I remember they only told us "beginning of February".

On 1/15 we were told 4-6 weeks. I would assume that would be pretty standard for waiting to hear back when interviewing in this time frame? Not 100% sure though.

Someone told me the an adcom member told them that the interviews for the past few weeks are only for the waitlist because the class is full. They said they were told this during their interview. Anyone else heard this? Can't imagine they'd have interviews through March if that were true.

I doubt that's true.

I also doubt this is true. The previous 2 years of forums show IIs in February, March and even April with direct acceptances.

No med school is ever going to cut it's application season short. Schools like Rosalind see high turn over before/during trafficking day. How many folks on here have gotten II's and turned them down because of other offers? It's in the school's best interest to have a big accepted applicant pool.
