2015-2016 Stony Brook University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I can't remember from interview day but does Stony have step 1 dedicated studying time? If so for how long?

I may be misremembering what my student host told me but I think it's 6-8 weeks? He said it's definitely around the same amount of time other schools give off for Step 1 studying, maybe even longer.

Just rejected here pre-interview! good luck to those still in the running.

Im sorry..but can you share when you were complete...just wondering when I will get the axe.

are there any merit scholarships at stony for non URMs?

Rejected pre-interview just now. OS, LizzyM ~72, they told me I was complete 9/15.

Same. I'd love to get an interview from this school, but it's been so long.
I was complete in July and received an II this week, so keep your hopes up, it's very possible :barefoot:

MS1 here. Good luck to everyone still in the running. SBU is a fantastic medical school. Will answer any questions if you have them. I have been a bit busy since Stony Brook loves to flood us with exams so its been somewhat tough remembering to check back on this forum, so I apologize. Message me for any personal inquiries.

For those accepted: do they send the acceptance packet to your permanent address or preferred address? Was there anything else in there that wasn't in the acceptance e-mail?

I believe I wrote my preferred and permanent address as being the same on my application, although I'd imagine they'd send the letter to the preferred one (I'd just call and ask if you're worried). From what I recall, the physical acceptance letter was a duplicate of the emails you have already received.

Gotcha, thank you. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing any other forms that need to be sent in or something.

Rejected pre-interview today. Congrats and good luck to all the future doctors!

Wait listed. Interviewed 11/17. I am pretty bummed since it was my only II so far and I thought my interviews went really well. OOS LizzyM=72

Wondering if there will be another round of II's or if this is it?
