2015-2016 Tufts University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Sorry about that :/ how did you think your interviews went?

Honestly, I thought they went quite well. I connected very well with my faculty interviewer in particular and I thought I talked nicely about my activities and the recovery from a death in my immediate family a couple of years ago. But then again, they say that applicants are generally poor judges of how interviews go so who knows, maybe there were some things I didn't do that well.

I feel kind of sad. I liked the school a lot. I'm guessing that my stats and maybe my activities just kind of didn't pass the bar compared to the other people that interviewed that day.

Apologies if this has been discussed but surely if Tufts is accepting over 500 students that at least a few were initially deferred? Maybe it's just false hope on my part. I am thankful, though, that Tufts even gave me the opportunity to interview in the first place.

It looks like your stats are around their median, and if you had a decent interview, then IDK what to expect :/ man this process is so daunting

Just interviewed here! It was an awesome interview over day overall. Everyone was super nice and the interviews were conversational. 🙂 so excited about all the clinical exposure available at this school

Literally in the exact same boat as you, hopefully being deferred earlier in the cycle helps our chances.

Does anyone know if Tufts is responsive to ITA emails? Also, any thoughts on their general attitude toward non-trad students/hope for a non-trad with a unique story?

They are not receptive to ITAs. All non-trad stories are different so I think your story and experiences will be more of the determining factor. (for reference, I'm very non-trad and got an ii last year)

Ah, ok. I hope an ITA won't reflect poorly, even if they aren't receptive :-/ I am crossing my fingers for an II.

They address the ITA question directly in the FAQ on their website...

So for those of us who interviewed 10/13 they told us they'd me be meeting about our group tomorrow. Anyone have an idea of when we'd hear back given that?

They told us that once they meet this week we should hear back by the second week of November

For early October interviewees - does anyone know when they might be releasing decisions?

I interviewed last week and they said they were meeting today and releasing decisions by mid-November.

Yeah by mid November but historically in the past few years they've released it a few days after deciding. Fingers crossed

Does anyone know when we should expect to hear back from the MPH program if we applied MD/MPH and were accepted to the MD program?

You just gave me a heart attack by posting here, thought the calls were happening.... :yeahright:

Does anyone know if we get a call either way ? Or only for an acceptance?

Has anyone who interviewed Maine Track on 9/25 heard anything back yet?

Congrats on the Acceptances! Did you guys get an email? I interviewed early Oct. and I have yet to hear back!

Anyone who was verified in July/Aug still pending decision?
+1 complete in mid August. Looking at previous years' threads, it seems like they hang on to apps until the end of the cycle before sending rejection notices, but that people were also still getting IIs as late as February. So who knows what the silence means.

Has anyone who interviewed 10/6 received an acceptance call?

Any other student who've been accepted know when they'll send the acceptance email and update the portal to pay the deposit?

Dean Neumeyer told me it would be in the next couple of days during my phone call!

Congratulations to all those who received acceptances! Interviewed here today and was very impressed.

Interviewed 10/15, just received an email that I was deferred
