FYI to those who are waiting, "We are happy to announce that application numbers at Washington University School of Medicine are significantly higher than previous years. This has slowed down application processing. Please note, we will review all applications once complete and will notify you if any additional information is needed. "

saw that too. btw, complete date?
 
So on their website there are bios of the interviewers--when do we get to know who is interviewing? Do they email us?

Under the application portal there should be a tab on the left that says "visiting campus" or something along those lines. Under that section you can find the itinerary for your interview day and who is interviewing you.
 
they still haven't received my rec letters sent aug 6th. everything else is marked in, but im still marked incomplete

So you only have access to this information a couple days before your interview?
 
Just received an email warning me about their escrow policy since I'm International (Canadian). Positive sign or do they eventually send it to all? I've been complete for a couple weeks

Anecdotally, I got a very similar email a couple of hours before my St. Louis University II, so I'm hoping this will be similar 😛

Edit: I'm curious to know if any Canadians/Internationals DIDN'T get this email or got it on a different day.

Hmm, interesting. I also applied to SLU but I have yet to receive that email or an II. I interviewed there back in the 2012/2013 cycle.
 
Question about the Pizza party
- does it have any bearing on the actual Interview?
- Are the students who are part of the Pizza party the same as the ones who will be interviewing the next day

As long as you don't set a very bad impression, I'm almost positive it has nothing to do with your decision. As for the second question, you aren't interviewed by students, just two faculty.

The pizza party has no impact at all on your interview or evaluation by the school. The only people attending other than applicants are current students who have no formal role in admissions. And yes, the applicants attending are those who will be interviewing the following day. Just relax at the pizza party! It's very casual and there's no pressure. 🙂

Finally marked complete today. A bit frustrated that it took so long. Submitted on 7/20.........

It seems like this entire cycle schools are moving slower than before.. maybe they have been overwhelmed with early applications?

Regardless, all other schools marked me as complete within 2 days of submission. What's really stressful is that it seems the MSTP apps are also being held up at the admissions office although they review considerably less MSTP applications than MD. I know my application is ready for review, someone just needs to manually verify that I submitted the fee (although I got an e-mail confirming this)!

Where did you apply?? I had many schools that took over two weeks...

Around 10 schools so far, mostly top 30 schools (only ones that accept international MSTP applicants). All marked complete instantly or within 1-2 days of submitting my supplemental. AECOM and Case took a few days (but not 2 weeks) because I think they also manually mark files as complete. Point is, if some schools can do it automatically, why not all? Was also confused by this dean's certification requirement at WUStL. Either way, I would love to interview here, it's an amazing school despite this stressful waiting game.
 
II just now as well! Complete sometime in September, not sure when my last letter of rec went through exactly.
 
Does any one know number of interviews vs. number accepted for each cycle?
 
I noticed that the "Visit Arrangements" page says the breakfast is at 7am, but their website and confirmation email say 8am. Does anyone know which one is correct?

It's extremely relaxed. You'll have an open file interview that lasts a while (45 minutes) and, in my case, was very conversational. No behavioral questions, no ethical questions. Just a legitimate attempt to get to know you through friendly conversation. It was clear to me that my interviewer did know a lot about my background from my file and had definitely read my recommendation letters, but didn't grill me at all.

The second interview was closed-file and more "why medicine" and the like. Nothing you're not prepared for and only 20 minutes long. Don't sweat your interviews at all.

8am is correct. Definitely worth going -- the food was awesome!
 
Not that it matters yet, but does anyone have their Dean's Certification checked off in the app portal?
 
It's been almost 3 weeks since I submitted my secondary and the portal is still saying that they haven't received my LORs, which I submitted to AMCAS back in July... Anyone else in the same boat?

I'm already complete, but they must have really had a ton of apps this year. Even at the interview day they brought up multiple times how there's been way more apps this year and it's taking longer than usual to sift through them all.
