Rejected at 2 AM this morning by email. LizzyM 74, complete 8/17 or so, did not receive "the email." Good luck to those still in the running.

Complete 8/18. Rejected pre-II 11/4, 5:30am. OOS with ties to Tufts so not surprised. Non-trad. Low MCAT.
 
Rejected this AM- OOS but currently working in Boston. A few others I know got rejected today as well. Big axe!
 
For a school that reviews applications holistically, and has no minimum GPA requirement, you'd think they'd interview more people.

its hard to have sympathy. first thing they have written on admissions page in big letters: "a holistic approach, from admissions to practice." if they're gonna exploit it, they can at least be less stat-driven

Interview itself is 1-on-1 with a faculty member on the admissions committee - they know your file beforehand, very conversational, and the rest of the day is spent touring the facilities and is a very low-stress day. Dean says that about 1/3 of the class will be filled by Jan 5, many will be deferred to the second batch of re-reviews where the next chunk of interviewees will be compared, and in mid March about 2/3 of the remaining class if filled.

Just interviewed here, as well! To add to this, Dean Witzburg estimated that 2/3rds of the interviews are completed in the first round (Sept to Mid Dec), with the next 1/3rd completed in Jan-Feb. Acceptances are 1/3rd in the first batch and 2/3rds in the second batch.

He said yield has been steadily rising, so they're being more conservative with acceptances.

Dean Witzburg doesn't really like waitlists, but says there's a very small wait list (unranked) and that movement is likely.

Updates are encouraged.

I don't think my interviewer asked me one pointed question. Super conversational.
 
Interviewed here today as well.
Agree that it was extremely conversational and it was a great way to learn about the school by talking with the interviewer.
It's a super long day so make sure you grab enough to eat during the morning session. A lot of walking as well for the tour and if your interviewer's office is located elsewhere on the campus.
Annnnd ofc Dean Witzburg is just an absolutely amazing man and really does a great job with making the interview day relaxed.

i appreciate this report back but i'm afraid i dont understannd. BU interviews 2/3rds of its applicants in the first part of the interview season, but only accepts 1/3 of them? And accepts the majority from the Jan-Feb batch?

I think those numbers include deferred students... Seems more indicative of how they wait to fill the majority of their class until after they have interviewed all of the candidates. That's at least how I interpreted it. I don't think they accept 2/3 from the second round of interviews, that seems off.

Have they already been sending out round 2 II's? I haven't been rejected... complete mid August... worried interviewed spots are filling up though!

I was complete in July and got an II recently.

I forget where my post is further back, but I received an II awhile ago and it was for Round 2 of the interviews (January-February). I'm not sure if it is representative of where they currently are at scheduling-wise though.
