Can anybody shed some light on heavily this school weighs IS/OOS? By the looks of MSAR, OOS makes up a significant of their matriculants.

I'm trying to figure out how much I should focus on Virginia in our secondary (for example, if I should bring it up in the where do you see yourself in 10 years question).

Half of the class is OOS. Not sure how many of those have "significant" ties to VA, though.

EVMS has a very strong commitment to the Hampton Roads area. So unless you envision yourself practicing there specifically, don't focus on Virginia. (For example, I'm from Northern Virginia which is very different from the Norfolk area and right now I don't see myself staying down here. So I stayed away from discussing that aspect.)
 
I know these threads are usually saturated with people that were verified and complete super early but for any lurkers that were a little late like me i just wanted to share.

I'm late in the game with this school, too! I turned in my secondary last week and just received my complete email today. OOS.
 
I was just wondering if anyone who set up an interview got a confirmation email afterwards? I called the office and set up a date, but wasn't sure if I was supposed to get a confirmation email or something. Thanks!

Hey. Can somebody help me with this image resizing. I keep trying to get it to the right size but doing 144px by 144px seems to cut my face out in every picture I have. I have a mac by the way but have been using online photo editors too.

False alarm.....I figured it out. They didn't teach us how to resize pics in O chem. My apologies.

I just got a reminder email yesterday, but no confirmation after scheduling.
 
Just wondering, is anyone else still waiting for any communication from the school?

I was verified on 7/22 and have a LizzyM score of >70.

I've already sent an email about 2 weeks ago but they haven't responded. Do you guys think this merits a phone call? Or... should I take this as a silent pre-secondary rejection.

I would call. We have a super nice admissions office and they'll tell you what's up.
 
Hey guys! Does anyone know if EVMS has a student host program for interviews? I have tried to look through the website but didn't really see anything about it. Thanks! 🙂

They don't, but last year I think people would just message medical students they found on the FB page. I'm a current M1--message me and I'll see if I can help you out. 🙂

Watch for traffic on I-95, including the beltway in-between. Heading S in the afternoons or N in the mornings on I-95 is a nightmare! Best to leave super early in the morning (3/4 am) or well into the evening (after 7 pm). Have fun!

Anyone submit their secondary after 8/10 and receive a completion email? My account still says "you will receive a an email when your file is completed by admissions office" so I am kind of worried since its been nearly a month.

I submitted my secondary on the 31st and received a complete email the same day

(Wed and Friday) Sept 14th, Oct 5th, Oct 12th, and Oct 14th. There were 2, 3, 3, and 7 spots respectively when I received II. More invites have gone out since according to thread so I'd assume the first three are booked.

I haven't called yet to schedule but I'm sure they're around end of October by now.
 
They only had spots on October 19th and the 21st when I called to schedule on Friday. It fills up pretty fast.
 
Any current students here open to letting me sleep on your couch the night of the 29th? I'll buy you dinner!
