Says same thing, may take some time to kick in. Don’t worry. Send in your acceptance letter.

Nope.

It sounds like some people have already been accepted (according to one IU) so they'll be the best gauge for when letters are received. Last year people received letters the day after MLK day (their MLK day was the 16th and they received letters on the 17th... so they must have mailed them out on the 14th/15th or something).

If what I have read earlier is correct then they mailed them out on the 15th, which also happens to be our MLK day (delayed mail). I'm in state, so if I haven't heard back by tomorrow I'll assume that I'm still playing the waiting game (the fact that I have heard nothing today is making me lean towards this, usually IS takes 1-2 days of travel time, though past months it has taken up to 3 days).

Got my acceptance back in November. It was postmarked on the 16th, but I received it on the evening of the 20th. I live very close to campus.

Hey all! I got my letter yesterday in the mail. Dated the 12th. Interviewed early November.

I had a weird email earlier in the week about background checks that was my first inkling, then got my campus ranking email prior to when the letter itself showed up. Feel free to ask any questions and don't give up hope, friends who were very similar to me and interviewed the same day got their acceptances in December!

Anyone know anything about the Evansville campus ?
I have a friend at the Evansville campus. It was her first choice, even though she lived 10 minutes outside of Indianapolis and did her undergrad in Indy. She chose this campus because of the smaller class size, and that campus has a history of scoring higher on Step 1. They also have brand new facilities opening in May of this year.

Will you please ask you friend more details why I have heard contradict opinion from 2 friends Evansville is not great due to sub-par faculty....

May? You mean May 2018? Higher Step 1 score? Hmmm.

Thanks,

Does she like it ??

Does anyone know of a place where we can find reasonably reliable info regarding scores from those who went to each campus?

To those that do not have the University ID (10 digit thing) but have been accepted:
I called admissions. Apparently they are having some IT issues, but your portal should update in the next 24-48 hours. After we pay the graduate fee is when we get our ID.

Can anyone share what time the info session ended? Trying to book my return flight . Thanks in advance.

So it is emailed to us? I was pretty confused by that and was trying to find it. My portal is updated but have no idea where to locate this ID.

EDIT: Nm I assume it pops up in that portal window that says "ID listed above"

So i have my Network ID, but it still says "We were unable to locate an applicant with the credentials you provided" when i try to login in with my ID.... anyone else having this issue?

Yes, there is a huge new facility (61 million dollars, 140,000 square feet). It'll be home to the med school, nursing school, PA school, dental school, and OT school. Google "Multi-Institutional Academic Health Science Education and Research Campus"

She does like it there and would still choose it over Indy (I just asked). She likes being in a smaller group of students and feels that she learns best that way.
I'm not sure about faculty there. I interviewed in South Bend, and the faculty interviewers were awesome. The student panel also raved about their professors. They have open door policies with offices in the same building as the classrooms, labs, and library. At SB, the students also mentioned that, because there are fewer students and residents, they also got wayyy more time with their physician mentor. The med students don't have to fight for attention and learning opportunities.

I feel like south bend would be tight. That Notre Dame connection

Congrats to everyone who got accepted! Quick question for you. Did any of you send thank you letters, letters of interest/intent, or provide any kind of post-interview update before you were accepted?

Nope didn’t do anything
+1 I did not do anything either. Wrote handwritten thank you notes for another school and got waitlisted

Absolutely not. In fact, the campus that I interviewed at said that they do not regard them one way or another but did indicate that it was very unnecessary and cliche. I have made it my policy to not send thank you notes to any school for any reason. Although I am exceedingly polite in emails, on the phone, and in person - as you should be for any job or position you are applying to.

Thanks for the help everyone. I'll keep up my doing nothing lol
Lmao I didn’t write them either. Mostly cause they didn’t give me any info to do it. Also, n of 1 but a previous cycle I got rejected after sending ty letters so....... not saying that’s what caused it but...

Depends on the school but Indiana interviews way too many people to care about personal thank yous.

Mayo Clinic on the other hand likes that kind of thing. Smaller student sample, more intimate.

Is this in regard to a thank you note or a letter of interest? I do not think a letter of interest would be unnecessary if you are trying to convey your interest in this school. I have talked to people that sent one and got in and people who sent one and didn't get in. I would probably side with the fact that they don't favor it one way or another but I do not think it would be unnecessary. A thank you note however, very unnecessary.

I was saying in regards to thank you notes. I have no experience with a letter of intent or anything similar.

It takes up to 5 days after you create your credentials to log into the application portal using your newly created credentials. If it still doesn't work check back with admissions.

For sure, IU was the only school I didn’t write to, mostly because I wasn’t sure of the interviewer contact info. Even some larger schools, like Georgetown, really like those letters. I think writing thank you letters is just a good habit to get in, but I also worked several jobs before applying and you’d never do a regular job interview without sending a thank you letter.

I called again. The lady took my AMCAS ID number and said she added it to a list and sent it to the IT people to have it added to the system. Said to call or email if it isnt working by Friday

How exactly do we know if it’s working? Mine says accepted but I see nowhere to get my 10 digit ID number or whatever so I can do campus selection.

Damn med school really is as hard as they say.

Edit: found the code on my employee ID from the pdf of my application I got back in September. All is well. I am a genius and med school is easy.

I mailed thank you letters to my interviewers a day or two after my interview. The only update I sent was a letter regarding something I needed to update/change in my application. While I think thank you letters are nice/ideal, I do not think it will make the difference as to whether you are accepted to a program or not, but it is a thoughtful gesture/good habit.

My portal is finally working with my IU credentials. I already had an IU login since I got my masters through IU, so not sure if that expedited the process.

This time last year I was stressing out about the MCAT (TO DATE). Finally being accepted and coming out the other end feels soooo relieving. Anyone checking their portal every day to make sure there was no mistake on your acceptance letter or anything?

I feel like any day they will email me and say "There was an administrative mistake". I've had a dream or two about that already.

Hey , anyone have information on the Muncie campus or any current students at Muncie campus that are free to talk?

Question to people that interviewed at the Indianapolis campus: Was there a lot of walking? Ladies, are heels a good idea?
